Stretch your ski season deep into spring with The North Face Hoback Work Gloves. These tough, low-profile gloves are the ones to grab when the snow starts flirting with the freeze mark. Their waterproof, stretch spandex shell and leather palm keep your hands dry when you're laying trenches in May slush, and their ultralight brushed tricot insulation is just right for those bluebird bonus days when all the suckers have declared the season through. You know better than that though, don't you?

Bottom Line: Late season is when the Hoback Work Gloves start crankin.

my go to glove

These gloves are fantastic in most outdoor applications. They break in well and have great dexterity with movement and are really comfortable. They perform solidly in cool temps but don't quite cover it when it gets to down to roughly 20 degrees fahrenheit. I tend towards cold hands (and Raynauds) and from 20 up, these handle with good warmth and protection.

For the climbers out there, my hand size is roughly a #1 bd camalot, and the Small in these fits great.

More than just springtime

These gloves rock. They are advertised as a spring glove, but I use them during most of the winter. As long as its not super stormy or cold, my hands stay warm in these. Also especially useful when ski touring. Stylish enough to wear around Seattle when its colder than a witch's....

I have had these gloves for a year now and they have been great on the up ski tours.
Used them ski mountaineering all summer in the cascades!

fine for spring

By:

i was hoping these would be versatile enough to withstand winter conditions, as i need a glove with excellent insulation, without sacrificing dexterity. unfortunately, the hoback gave me neither. i wore these with liners in an absolute downpour in about 40º weather and my hands were soaked and freezing after an hour or so. THESE GLOVES ARE NOT WATERPROOF and i don't know why they are listed as such. i think they might be fine for spring skiing and fall hikes, but would probably also be overkill.

Warm, waterproof and compact!

Wanted a glove for colder spring days and waterproof enough for spring snow in the east - these are great. I also love these because they have a short cuff which fits nicely under the cuffs of my jackets. Good quality and definitely pretty warm - I can wear these down to around 15-25^...but FYI-I am rarely cold to begin with.

Not so great

By:

They are incredibly constricting and tight... I've had them for a couple years now, and have tried washing them several times, balling them up repeatedly, anything to 'break them in'

aside from that, they are not very warm (though not necessarily intended to be) I got them as sort of a driving glove, around town, around camp, that sort of thing, they work O.K. for that, but I definitely would not recommend these to anyone... try Mountain Hardware, their stuff is always great.

Solid work gloves

Bought for my husband for xmas. So far he has worn them this winter to shovel, clean snow off our vehicles, finish building a tool shed, and do other active projects in frigid weather (these gloves won't keep your hands warm in deep winter if you're just standing around). They'll also make great ski/ride gloves in not-too-stormy spring conditions.
