For conditions colder than you can even imagine, The North Face Men’s Himalayan Down Pant separates your warm body from the frozen world with a barrier of fluffy, 800-fill goose down and Gore Windstopper fabric. This fully insulated pant features fully laminated and taped baffles to keep the down in place, and a soft stretchy bib complete with adjustable suspenders. An abrasion panel on the seat holds up to rocky sit-downs, and a full two-way front zipper makes for easy in-and-out when it’s time to climb into your even fluffier sleeping bag.

Bottom Line: Expedition-grade warmth for you lower half.

According to the sizing chart, I should buy a medium. However, do I buy one size bigger because I am going to wear thermal base layer underneath?

Winston, IMO I think these run just a bit small to the size chart. I would rather have them a little loose than snug and would go to the larger size.

The Beauty of Warmth!

Okay, if you're looking to spend time high enough to require this kind of warmth or you're just doing some winter camping in the sinks, these are the way to go. These pants are rated if you're looking to head into temps below -40F but they'll go lower than that. They work very well with harnesses. Obviously gaiters are necessary but I'd wear them no matter when when I have these pants on. Patching a tear is fairly easy, but a pain in the hiney when you're in the thick of the cold. I tore my jacket and it was a pain but worked very well. The fit is great, they move well, they're very true to size and they don't seem to ride up at all. Killer pants. You'll love 'em!!!

Wondering about the 'general fit' of these pants? I am

Wondering about the 'general fit' of these pants? I am kinda between a M and L (waist 34-35 depending). Would it be better to be at the upper end of the M or the lower end of the L sizing? Hmmmm???? Any help out there? Thanks & God Bless!
