The North Face Hightail Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down - 2008 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
The North Face Hightail 900 15-Degree Down Sleeping Bag culminates The North Face's quest for the lightest, warmest down, and down-proof sleeping bag technology. Incredibly comfortable, ultralight, and toasty warm, the Hightail is part of The North Face's backpacking Flight Series. The North Face starts with ultralight 15 denier ripstop HelioLite ripstop nylon (one of the lightest downproof materials in existence) and fills it with 900 fill Eastern European goose down—the lightest, most efficient down on the market. The 'rippled' baffle-construction evenly distributes the Hightail's 900-fill down for maximum warmth and prevents the insulation from shifting side to side, creating cold spots. The one-third-length zipper features a draft tube to seal in warm air, as well as a no-snag stiffener in the zipper column. You'll be hard-pressed to find a warmer, lighter, more comfortable 15-degree sleeping bag. The Hightail 900 includes a nylon/mesh storage bag for storing around the house and a stuff sack for backpacking.
Bottom Line: The culmination of 3-season, ultralight, down-filled sleeping bags.

North Face Hightail Packs Small

North Face beat marmot with the Hightail. The hightail is as light and small as the marmot helium but the hightail includes a foot zipper which allows a ton of ventilation in warm weather. I have only slept in this bag in the low 40s but it seems as warm as any 15 degree bag I have used. The bag has good dimensions and was not constricting as I slept.

hightail also has a higher fill weight and is thus warmer (also without being heavier) - realistically more like a 10 degree bag, possibly even warmer. The weights in grams and the EN temperature ratings are a lot more telling than the standard english ratings.
Change me.

Warm and super light
This is a great bag. It is incredibly light weight and the loft of the fill is unbelievable. A 2 way full zip would give better functionality, but I more...
