Your boyfriend just informed you that he forgot to pack both sleeping bags. Oh well—you can just remove the Heatseeker liner from The North Face Women’s Hero Triclimate Jacket and sleep in that. Heh, looks like he also forgot the tent. At least whatever’s under the Hero’s shell will stay dry if it snows.
Waterproof HyVent 2L fabric and taped critical seams help block wetness
Adjustable hood for high-mountain wind
Removable synthetic liner adds versatility when the weather changes
I am going to Latvia for a month in december and i need a jacket that is versatile and can be worn for day to day activities (ie sight seeing) but also skiing. Is this the jacket for me? I need some pants as well. What pants would you guys reccomend?
One last thing.. I am ordering from Australia, so i cant really return it if its not right.. so when it comes to sizing is it better to go to big or to small? Thanks
I absolutely love the North Face Hero jacket I bought. I work at a campus-style school where I'm outside all the time, and this jacket has kept me very warm and dry, despite the several feet of snow we got this winter! As we're transitioning into spring, I've loved being able to zip the inner layer out, just wearing that part. I'm really glad I chose the Hero, because I wear sweaters and fleece pullovers a lot. This way, I don't have to worry about laying fleece on top of fleece, which is why I didn't get the Greta. It also shipped very quickly from BackCountry.com and was offered here at the best price.

This is my first North Face and by far, I am pleased with my purchase. The only thing I do have to say is once it hits frigid temps , I still needed to wear another layer inside. However, overall, this jacket is pretty warm. I do like the fact that it is waterproof and light weight, unlike other jackets that when wet, drags you down. When looking at this jacket on this site, a Customer Representative helped me in answering all my questions...Two Thumbs up to them. Backcountry--->YAY to you!
Hi Meg- I know what winter riding is like in New England, so it needs to be warm.... I think the Hero will work well for you. You still might need to put a warm mid layer under the liner jacket on the coldest days, but this should work well for you. Hope this helps-
I hit a home run buying this jacket for my daughter in med school. She needed something light but warm and easily "kept-up" due to her strenuous schedule. This was the jacket! Recent very wet snowfall was the jackets first test and it passed with flying colors. I am repeat orderer from Backcountry and will return again.
I ordered this coat in the medium. It was too large. I am 5'5 125lbs. It also felt very light and I was looking for a warmer coat. I sent it back and ordered a Helly Hansen. On the other hand it was a pretty coat and has a nice cut.
Love this Jacket! Virginia was unexpectantly frigid this winter, this Jacket was on time. When the cold spell broke I just wore the inner jacjet & was still warm. Love the length -right at the hip & deep pockets. Wish I could securely hide the hood:(. Choose White-looks great with all my casual wear. I have become a North Face Fan! & Backcountry customer service-two thumbs up:)
I bought this jacket for my girlfriend and it got me some major brownie points. This jacket is amazing it is so warm my girlfriend mainly just wears the inside shell. I love the three in one jacket here and so will whoever you buy this for. This is by far the coolest North Face that I have seen and according to my girlfriend it is also the warmest. Thanks to the online help I got from the store I found this jacket quick and easy.
bought the jacket for my wife and she loves it! loves the two in one feature of jackets. even the thinner inside jacket keeps her warm on cool days! this gift will keep me out of the doghouse for a while LOL!
I got this jacket for christmas after picking it out on this website. The bright pink and nice black inner layer looked really nice on the website and I needed a new winter jacket to keep me warm and dry since I do a lot of walking outside all year round.
This jacket has already exceeded my expectations. Even in a rain/sleet storm one day and high winds the next I was able to stay warm and dry being outside. I have not separated the layers yet so I can't speak to how they are separate. The hood is great, it can be adjusted to draw close to the face in bad wind or rain. Great pockets for holding things and the zippers make sure your things dont get wet or fall out! Very warm even though the jacket is light!
Well, while that's quite a vague question, it does have 100g of insulation and a zip in and removable liner. It is also waterproof and recommended for snow sports, which are obviously done in the cold. So I would say you should be good to go in North Dakota weather. It should keep you warm enough in most conditions and circumstances.
Granted Mt. Rainier can have nice days, but I would be prepared for the worst at any time of the year on that mountain. Regardless, the Hero jacket would be too heavy for any type of mountaineering that I can think of. I would look at something like the North Face Plasma Thermal Jacket - or the North Face On-Sight Jacket for a couple of good alternatives that would be much lighter, more packable, and more breathable.
I absolutely love the North Face Hero jacket I bought. I work at a campus-style school where I'm outside all the time, and this jacket has kept me more...
This is my first North Face and by far, I am pleased with my purchase. The only thing I do have to say is once it hits frigid temps , I still needed to more...
