So good, we are getting another one!

We bought this backpack for my older son for Christmas last year ... he likes it so much that we are buying another one for our younger son!

Nice pack

Bottom line you get what you pay for. It is everything it is advertised as. It is good construction and will not fall apart on you. The comfort level is minimal and does not breathe well on the back. If you need a school bag, this looks great since it has tons of room and all the other trendy kids at school will think you are cool too. The hip/waist belt is left wanting if you are really going to be hiking with this though. I prefer an actual hip belt that has padding not a lame strap. If you spend more for a day pack like from osprey or deuter, you will get a lot more, but if you are cheap snag this one for a nice pack.

I love my backpack. it is big enough for all the things I need for work and it is very comfortable. I love the 3 different sized pockets which keep my stuff organized. it looks good and it feels good. I buy a good backpack every few years and I am very happy with this choice. I am sure it's going to last and serve its purpose very well. I strongly recommend it.

Everything it's advertised...

Good construction, tough materials and plenty of room and pockets for all my gear. It's the perfect size for airline carry-on and a good size for day hikes. I wouldn't recommend it for weekend hikes (unless you're a minimalist), but that isn't what it was designed for anyway.

Great Bag!

The bag is a great size for my laptop, and the straps are wide to support any extra weight I might have in it. And it looks great!

How waterproof is the heckler? I am traveling in central America (during the rainy season). Will the heckler keep my stuff dry? If not, what day pack would you recommend?

Responded on

The Heckler is water resistant so if it gets splashed on or drizzled on by a light rain storm the contents will be protected. If you are outside all day in consistent rain showers that continuously soak the pack, water will eventually work its way inside the pack. There are several North Face packs that come with rain covers. I would recommend the Plasma 30. It is about the same size and volume as the Heckler and is close to it in price.

Great pack...but it needs a chest strap

This is a great day pack/laptop carrier. I've used it extensively in the last few months for business and personal travel. My only real complaint is that my wife keeps stealing it, so I have finally convinced her to buy her own... needs a chest strap for those long hikes through the world's less-well-planned airports! It won't be much problem to add one, but it should come from the factory so equipped. A small glitch in a great piece of equipment.

I want a pack that can carry my cleats. See cleats get wet and muddy and are generally not something you want to put inside your pack with the fleece and jeans you took off. So I was thinking the side mesh (water bottle) pockets or the front stash cord might be the place to put cleats I don't want mixing with my cloths.

Responded on

Why not get a water proof bag to put your cleats in thus keeping the mud and such away from your cloths and keeping the inside clean

I've put this backpack to so much use already and I haven't even gotten to the main purpose for getting it which is as a daypack when I go to London The space in the main pocket seems to be endless! I can fit my laptop, a rain jacket, gym clothes, shoes, college books, and a thick fleece jacket and what I like most about it is that it doesn't crush what's in the media pocket which the compartments are perfect for my phone, wallet, ipod, etc. I recommend this for anyone who wants an awesome backpack for a great price

Great backpack

What I like most are the wide, comfortable straps on this backpack. It's great even with books, notebooks and my laptop inside. The small pocket on the outside is quite small, but I like the extra organization pockets. This will also be a great day pack for hiking.

Excellent pack - very comfortable

I bought this bag to replace my computer bag, because I travel a lot. This bag didn't let me down. My laptop fits great with lots of room to spare and very comfortable.

Great Backpack!

I bought this backpack for my 8th grade son. He needs lots of room for all his books & stuff - - this one fits the bill & looks good too.

I used this pack to carry through most of Europe and the space available with the pockets made this the perfect purchase.

The Heckler backpack is great. The laptop/bladder sleeve in the back is the perfect size for my 17" PowerBook. It is hard enough to find a case for a computer that size, but having a backpack that looks like it was designed with the computer in mind makes everything much easier.
