Pretty nice daypack.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This makes a great school bag and an alright hiking daypack or overnight bag for city trips. The fabric is pretty heavy for a pack of this size and the straps are comfortable. There is a stiff backing for added support, though this doesn't have a full frame. On school days, I can fit a few textbooks, my laptop, gym clothes, and my climbing shoes. For day trips I can fit my full climbing rack, a few liters of water, shoes, and some extra harnesses for friends (with my rope in a separate bag). If I just need to set up a toprope and don't need my full rack then I can fit a 60 m rope in this bag, too.

There are lots of little organizing pockets and a laptop sleeve that unnecessarily take up valuable space in a hiking pack, making it better suited for school, but it's not bad as a lightweight daypack.

Recommended as a multipurpose backpack, but probably wouldn't purchase specifically for a hiking pack.

Backpack was larger than I had thought

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift

I ordered this backpack as a gift for my little brother. He is in High school. I did not realize how big this bookbag was since I ordered it online. The large compartment is huge and drags down when he puts his textbook in to the bag. I am thinking about making an exchange or return.

Great Pack

This pack has one large pocket which is excellent for filling with school books or stuffing enough clothes for an extended weekend of travel. Comfortable enough that I would definitely take it on a weekend hiking trip. The mesh side pockets are great for waters or snacks. And the front bungee is great for holding onto that sweatshirt you use for layering when you start on those wonderful fall hikes. Overall, extremely versatile bag. Very pleased with my purchase.

Love's it!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this for my daughter who is a Senior in HS and has a lot of distance learning classes. She needed something to carry all of her gear and a laptop. She has commented, without prompting, several times on how much she loves this bag.

Great!

I am a high school female student who was looking for a backpack that could fit all of my things for school- which is alot. I carry everything I need all the time so it had to be a big backpack. I got it in the Tofino Blue/Centenniel Red color which is beautiful in person and looks the same as the photo above! It has tons of room and it seems I can fit everything I think It can fit- and then it fits even more! It's amazing and I will no doubt use this for years to come! Also being a girl it doesn't look big on me being a men's backpack which is wonderful!

lots of room

I bought this pack for my 13 year old son to have as an everyday pack & for high school this fall. After about 5-6 weeks he hasn't left it behind once. He has used it to go to the beach twice this summer & has been able to put enough stuff in it to go for a week at a time with room left over. I'm assuming that it will hold up well since it is North Face, I'll give it another 6 months of teen abuse before I rate how durable it is.

Great Pack!!

I have used this backpack for 4 years now and it is still in excellent condition. I used it mostly for school carrying heavy books and it holds up great. You can fit a lot into it and the laptop sleeve is a must have if you have a laptop you bring to and from school. It will probably last forever.
