Inspired by The North Face and Backcountry.com athlete Sage Cattariga-Alosa, the Men’s Halo II Camo Detachable Snow Suit is your first choice for waist-deep, big-mountain protection with one-of-a-kind style. The Halo II features fully waterproof breathable jacket and pants that zip together at the waist for a powder-proof seal.

  • Jacket and pants function together as a suit or independently
  • RECCO avalanche reflectors on both jacket and pants add safety on deep days in-bounds
  • Tuck-away balaclava increases protection on storm days
  • Underarm and inseam zip vents work with Chimney Venting System to regulate internal temps
  • Tons of pockets hold everything you’ll need for a day in the mountains

Bottom Line: Don’t plan on blending in with this protective big-mountain suit.

Pretty good suit.

Just spend the last few days in Steamboat and wore this suit every day. Great suit and jacket. You can't really wear the pants alone however, they have to be attached to the jacket to stay up. Plenty of pockets for everything. Got a lot of compliments on the jacket. I would give it five stars if you could easily where the pants without the jacket being attached. Sitting down for lunch you had to keep the jacket attached which was a bit of a hassle at times.

Great Suit!

This suit keeps me warm and dry and it has enough room for layering underneath. Looks good too! Sometimes I rock the jacket without the pants and when it's deep I zip it all together- a total steal @ $249!

Strange fit

By:
March 5, 2010

I bought the orange/brown version. Based size on sizing chart. Top fit great. But with the bottom, the crotch was down at my knees (pants attach pretty low on jacket) - hard to walk, didn't even want to try skiing in it.

Maybe that fit is intentional, but it didn't work for me.

Luckily, Backcountry.com has a great return policy, so I wasn't out too many $s. Do wish the sizing charts were more accurate, though (e.g., "inseam" is kind of meaningless when it starts at your knee!)

The Swiss Army Knife of Snowsuits

North Face always delivers a quality product. 12 pockets in the jacket and 8 in the pants! Love all the features & gadgets. I'm still finding new features that I didn't know about. On the pants is a lift flap with a clear window for lift passes and in a side pocket is a leash for gloves. In the arm pocket is a detachable leashed chammy cloth to wipe your goggles. Don't know if I'll ever use the built-in avalanche rescue system, but it's in there. There are 4 zippered vents with mesh windows to keep snow out; 2 under the arms and 2 on the inside thigh. If you buy a car for the number of cup holders, this suit is for you. The fit is made for a taller person as the crotch of the pants is down around mid-thigh. I really like the suit and the price was great, so I might make a cinch or harness to bring the crotch up. Skiing is no problem with good ease of movement. Doesn't seem any different from the baggy outfits worn by snowboarders. You can wear the jacket separate but can't wear the pants separate from the jacket because its the only thing holding up the pants.
