The North Face Men’s Halo Camo Detachable Snow Suit is your impenetrable fortress against powder’s assault and the blizzard’s onslaught. The North Face made the Halo Camo from HyVent waterproof breathable fabric, sealed all the seams, attached a storm hood and gaiters, and even included a tuck-away balaclava for winter’s worst days. A zipper separates the jacket and pant if you could use a bit of air or if you want to wear the jacket alone (pants not meant to be worn separately). More pockets than any one human being needs will hold your goggles, audio equipment, snacks, pass, and other items you want for an epic day on the mountain. Two RECCO reflectors marginally increase your odds should you get buried in an avalanche.
Bottom Line: Come to the mountain prepared.

Well, there is this one and then there is the one that is red on top and brown on bottom, and they both achieve the same basic goal; getting the brilliant benefits of one-piece technology without making you look like you fell out of the eighties (ie. dork.) In one fell zip you completely get rid of your average butt-glacier problem, and the top/bottom look eliminates the getting-snowballs-thrown-at-you problem. I wear it. I dig it. It does run a little big, so if you don't like your clothes a little baggy you might try a size smaller than usual.

The Halo is only a shell - there is no insulation built into it. So the warmth of the suit is going to be dependent on the layering that you wear underneath. The good news is, it sounds like this runs pretty big, so there should be plenty of room to add any layers that you need.
It is windproof and it should be a great shell for ice fishing and snowmobiling, again as long as you wear the appropriate amount of clothing underneath to stay warm.

This suit is SICK YO ! I feel like MC Hammer. 'cept I's white. I don't understand all of the complaints about the fit. It's perfect for me. Perhaps others shouldn't buy it until after their balls drop. Great design. Lots of useful pockets. Plus, the hood is removable, though the description doesn't say so. Only complaint, like many others said, is no suspenders to hold up pants when jacket is off. But I figure for the difference in cost between the Halo and the Haines tuxedo I can pay someone to sew in some.

Yeah, I would say that's about right. I have one in a Large and it is bigger than a typical TNF Large.

Well it depends on the layering you have underneath. This isn't a super warm snow suit by any means. At 40 below as you ask, you'd better be layered like crazy or you're going to be freezing. If you're going to be out in really cold weather, I'd look for something else.
