For the highly efficient individual, or one who wishes she were highly efficient, The North Face Women's Greta Triclimate Jacket offers a variety of options to regulate your temperature and ventilate during the active times—all in one jacket. The Greta Jacket's waterproof, breathable, seam-taped outer shell features an adjustable hood with brushed chinguard lining. The zip-in fleece liner jacket gives you another layer of insulation when it's extra chilly out. Wear just the outer layer for high-level activities like winter jogging, or just the inner fleece for taking a stroll on a crisp autumn day. Pockets in both the outer and inner jackets give you plenty of room for keys and snacks. The Greta's got all your options on the table, organized and ready to go.
Bottom Line: Next stop: organizing the shoes in your closet. Aw, never mind. You can do that next season.
The jacket fits great. I thought XS wouldn't fit well but I was pleasantly wrong! The only thing I have problems with is the sleeves. It's too long on me and the end is a bit tight. Other than that, it is lightweight and warm at the same time. I would definitely buy another one!
My wife has an ARC'TERYX Gor-Tex jacket for the Nasty days, but it is black and she doen't like wearing it all of the time (accessorizing or something like that). So I decided I would cater to her needs and see how she liked this little beauty (the pink and white). Loves and and it is still super warm. She also says that she has never felt cold in it. Happy wife, Happy Me.

I love this jacket. Sometimes I find that North Face jackets run wide and short, but this one isn't like the others. It has a soft inside rather than just feeling the liner against your skin. It's a great purchase.
I love the jacket, and would like to know the breathability and waterproof ratings? other brands will provide this, so it's difficult to make an exact comparison when it's not provided.
not for the brutal NYC winter. I'm 5'0" and 90 lbs and got the black/aurora pink in XS. It fits perfect, however I would go up a size if you're looking to layer. It's a nice jacket, great for keeping dry, but thinner than what I was looking for so I ended up returning this for the North Face Boundary Triclimate jacket.
The outer shell is comparable to a waterproof lined windbreaker. My daughter wears it as a rain jacket and is comfortable in 60 degree weather with only the outer shell on.
Before I purchased the orchid purple jacket, I carefully compared several other TNF triclimate jackets. I carefully examined the Atlas, Boundary, Odyssey, Hero, and Greta jackets. For my needs, Greta was the best fit as it is very light weight, yet versatile, stylish, and warm. I didn't like the style and fit of Odyssey jacket as it was too boxy and did not conform the body well. I am 5'4'' moderate fit around 125-128lbs. I thought Boundary was too puffy due to the thermal inner fleece, although it is very soft and comfortable. I would consider Atlas jackets, instead of Greta, if you live in colder regions as they have heavier inner shell. Hero is within the same price range with Greta, yet it is heavier and slightly puffier with less color range. I was being extremely anal with the jacket and actually tried them all and decided that Greta is exactly what I need. I also bought my girlfriend the black with pink stripes. She tried them all colors and she looked the best with the jacket. We were lucky enough to find the solid black jacket Greta, however, they were just too plainly black and we weren't really fond of the plainness. Although the black with pink stripes look very, very feminine in the photo, it is quite sporty cute in person and the pink is rather baby pretty pink, not the magenta hot pink. We are very satisfied with the jacket! :)
With guaranteed waterproof HyVent material and a comfortable fleece lining, paired up with some proper base layering and you'll be plenty warm and ND weather will be SOL. All hail the Triclimate!
I work at a job where I'm outside a lot, and the jacket has been pretty warm. I was a little apprehensive about it when I got it out of the box because it feels so darn light, but it has been warm, even here in Michigan! The only problem is it is pretty close-fitting, and I tend to layer like crazy, so wearing a hoodie underneath it makes it a bit snug.
I was expecting this jacket to be heavier. We live on the East Coast and my daughter needed something that would keep her warm while standing at the bus stop in the mornings, but this just did not do the trick. It was much thinner than we thought it was going to be and unfortunately did not do what we expected it to. I had to return this jacket for a much heavier one.
Write your question here... I was wondering about the Moonlight Ivory Greta Triclimate Jacket. Is that brown on the sleeves and the liner? I cannot tell what color it is. Thank you

no pictures are showing up for this product. i really want to order but would like to see the colors first. if not can you tell me is the jacket one solid color? also is the moonlight ivory more khaki than white?
The color of the coat is really nice. On a cold day (less than 25), I can wear a t-shirt & still be extremely warm! It vents very nice. I never get to hot in the coat. The hood does not zip off, which I didn't think I would like, but I really can't tell it is even there whwen I am not using it! I recommend this coat to everyone!
I would contact The North Face Warranty dept to see if they can help. You could also look at something like the North Face Salathe jacket - it is pretty close to the Greta liner.
Ive got The North Face Greta Triclimate Jacket for one of my relatives. Shes very happy cause of great advantages of this jacket. Triclimate Jacket is very flexible and designed really for very wide range of physical activities. One of our lovely colours in The North Face line is Igneous Purple, which looks incomparable among the variety of other attractive colours. Our city is very wet and windy, so combination of polyester HyVent shell; fleece Triclimate inner jacket- the best type of insulation to protect yourself from wind-chill factor (normal winter day is 35F and wind speed 30mph). Thanks The North Face for these products.
I bought this coat for a trip to Southeast AK this summer (2009) and I was completely satisfied with my purchase! I know it was a clearance item but I want to review it anyway...It was very comfortable and perfect in every way! I even got compliments from the locals on my coat!! We were in wet, rainy, and cold conditions and everything worked perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
I like the jacket, but I really don't like the cuff's. The velcro scratches my wrists, and I have to pull the soft inner fleece wrist band to protect my wrists. It is a good medium weight jacket, but I thought it would be warmer.
I like the way it looks, and like taking out the inside fleece for wearing indoors. It's easy to pull out and put back.
My scarves get caught in the velcro on the front of the jacket, but I like the velcro closure.
I have tried both and went with the black Greta. The Boundary is stiffer, bulkier, maybe a tad warmer (the fleece is slightly heftier) and more "technical" with pitzips, more pockets, etc... The Greta has a softer outside, but is waterproof and windproof so far. I have been sufficiently warm in it and it seems to have a better feminine fit than the Boundary which seemed very square. Remember the Greta has white on the sides and the hood is not removable which I like anyway.
Love this coat. I'd say it runs small, I'm only 5'3 and petite and the med was short on me so I got a large. Hood doesn't zip off but it also isn't an annoying one. I love how it is fleece lined so its warm when you have just a t-shirt on. Feels very light weight but keeps you warm and its not hot once you get back indoors. Lots of pockets! 16 and below weather...bring it!! :)
My college age daughter loves her Northface jacket. It fits well and she loves the black and pink. She said the jacket is a little thin, but she wore it skiing ,in below freezing weather, and was fine.
I bought this jacket in brown and winter white for my daughter who attends PITT because she said it gets so cold and windy there. It's great because it's perfect for all the changing seasons( rain and snow) at PITT and when walking around campus and up and down the hills around campus, it keeps her really warm! It's a perfect jacket for the Pittsburgh area!
I bought this jacket for my daughter for Xmas and I am so glad I spent the extra money for it. We have had -40 degree wind chills this past week and she has been nice and warm walking back and forth to school. And it is so cute - the fit is true to size and looks great on her. I don't really need a new coat but after seeing hers - I am looking for one for me!! Amazing how warm this jacket is considering how light weight it is.
I bought this North Face coat for my daughter. She is extremely picky about bulkiness, but likes to stay warm. It is not bulky, yet is very comfortable and very warm. This would have to be both of our favorite North Face gear.
Great Jacket! Very warm without being bulky. I'm 5'4" and I wear a small in TNF fleeces but went with a medium in this jacket for a little more room in case I wore a seater or something under it, and I couldn't be more pleased with the fit. Great investment for the GA winters, when sometimes all you need is a fleece:)
i just bought the pink and black and i have like 6 different northface jackets but this is my favorite. i live in mississippi. you never know what the weather is going to be so this jacket is perfect! i can take out the inner linning and use it for a rain coat or when its just chilly outside, or put the linning back in when its really cold outside. so many options. That's why it the perfect jacket!
So far I've only worn the shell, but its wonderful. I go to school in a valley so its kind of chilly walking to classes in the morning even now in early October, but the shell keeps me plenty warm and when I'm walking back from classes and its warmed up, it breathes easily so you're not sweaty in it. Best jacket ever and worth the money!
I am so excited I bought this jacket. My husband and I searched for hours for the perfect coat, and I am not disappointed with this selection. The jacket is light-weight, yet provides a great deal of warmth in the cold, windy mountains of western North Carolina. It is also a great length, falling right past my hips. The hood is not detachable, but I am willing to live with that one minor inconvenience.
Is jacket bulky or similar to the Item #TNF2497 that I have? Does the hood zip off? What is the waterproof rating? Is the liner a fleece jacket or a fleece-lined jacket?
no its not bulky at all. the liner is fleece and the outer shell is waterproof nylon and no hood doesn't zip off!the shell is hyvent polyester, not nylon!
I decided to keep the jacket because it is very comfortable to wear, but the photo does not accurately represent the jacket. It's a bit short (so it doesn't cover my longer sweaters), and the fit is loose with no drawstring at the waist to adjust. I was also surprised that there are white stripes running down the sides of the jacket.
I got this jacket after I moved back to Upstate New York. I am 5'9" and have no problems with the jacket being long enough. I bought a medium and it fits perfect. It keeps me so dry and warm even in sub-zero temps! I would recommend this jacket to anyone who is looking for a light weight jacket that is also very warm!
I got this jacket for my daughter and she loves it. She says it's very warm and the pink/grey color was fantastic. Very warm and she loves the flexibility.
I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas gift, and since that time, I have not seen her when she was not wearing it. She loves the versatility and the fact that she can be warm and dry without feeling trapped inside a heavy coat! It may well be the best money I spent for a gift this holiday season.
I live in New Orleans where winter means wet and cold. This jacket is the perfect thing for rain and cold! And the inner removable lining is cute all by itself! When worn with it zipped it, it is super warm. I really recommend it!
I bought the jacket for my wife because she liked the color Igneous Purple and it's style. She didn't know there was a white on the sides as the customers were saying, but she noticed that it's not really white which she was satisfied. The color of the sides looks like light tan, not white.
Overall, this jacket is pretty awesome. I love it for cold georgia weather we have been having. I'm nervous to take it up north without a thicker fleece for the inner layer though. perfect for weather in the forties. holds up great for wind and rain!I also LOVE the white color. Goes great with everything!
Wonderful jacket! Love the zip out fleece liner option! My teenagers tell me I look great. They love it too. Thanks for the fast shipping. Good value for the money.
Generally when my wife buys stuff fit becomes a problem. But this jacket was very close to the fit chart for her. She was surprised by the fact the sides had white stripes down the side being as the image showed none of that. Not a negative response but felt it could have been shown better. Once the skiing starts we'll have more input on warmth and performance. Style...she likes it.
I just bought this coat in white a couple weeks ago and I love it. Its nice to have a fleece liner for when its not so cold out. I can just throw that on and go and still look stylish. My husband loves when I wear the outer shell (he said I look sexy :)) Great coat I would recommend it!!
My wife has an ARC'TERYX Gor-Tex jacket for the Nasty days, but it is black and she doen't like wearing it all of the time (accessorizing or something more...
