Finally a warm coat that doesn't make you look like the Michelin Man. The North Face Women's Greenland Jacket features 550-fill down and a HyVent two-layer fabric that will keep you warm, dry, and looking good during any storm Old Man Winter throws your way. Two oversized hand pockets warm your digits, while the faux-fur-lined hood and removable waist-belt will allow you to come in from the cold with style.
Where can i get the Cherry Stain Brown Northfaceland jacket women's i really love the color i hope the discountined doesn't mean i cant get that color anywhere else.
The fur in the hat looks pretty cheap, had to return it cuz it is a little chuppy on the body but too short on the arms. However, i'll return and buy something else cuz the customer service is amazing. The fund process was very smooth and quick!
While I can't offer personal experience because this jacket is womens, I can say that their size charts in men are very accurate. If you click above on the size chart link and find the size that "says" should fit you, then you should be good to go. The size chart given is the exact size chart for North Face Women's clothing. And if by some crazy reason it doesn't fit, you can send it back and order the right size and they'll have no problems with making an exchange.

I bought her this for a Xmas gift and she loved it. I checked it out when it arrived... great build quality, all kinds of pockets... she loved the belt... but the hood does not come off (although you can remove the fur). In any event, the build quality feels great (even though made in China) keeps her very warm.
Seriously... she loved this jacket (Asian, 5'6", XS was too small). So I returned it and...
Backcountry HAS some of the BEST Customer Service I have ever used!!
1. Americans on the phone. 2. They are genuinely there to assist you. 3. They communicate about everything (I got an email to confirm just about every step in the return). 4. They "paid" for the return shipping (by not charging me for the shipping of the replacement. I think I could have got free shipping, but I wanted rush... can't remember... these guys (and gals) were so awesome I didn't care. 5. They shipped the replacement (I had to return original b.c. of wrong size) immediately.
Too... this item went on sale the day after I bought it and I called them and remarked about the price difference. The first words out of their mouths wasn't some B.S. about "corporate policy says... blah, blah, blah..." but rather "Let's take care of that for you!!!"
Damn straight!! Great Experience!!! As long as they keep up this service I will continue to shop here (their service is even better than the BAM local outdoor stores).
I assume by "it" you mean the fur trim on the hood. In which case it is fake. If by "it" you mean the jacket, it is real. And not just a picture. I'm not really sure what you're asking.
I adore this coat, its so warm and cozy! perfect for the Utah weather. I have to admit the belt is a little useless but other than that its perfect for me!
I just got this jacket and overall I really like it. It's warm, the Hyvent shell feels impenetrable, and it's pretty cute for a warm jacket. I'm 5'9", with fairly long arms, and the sleeves are long enough (but by no means too long - not a lot of extra length). I got a medium and the body feels cozy without feeling tight anywhere. The belt is sort of silly; it's not adjustable at all, so it doesn't really "slim" the way that other reviewers have said, and it doesn't come off so it sits on what would be the waist of a slightly shorter person but was too high for me. I cut it off, actually, and it looks very cute. I would love it if the NF and other gear manufacturers would make gear for different heights as well as different widths of women, but I've been asking for years (I'm sure all women over 5'7" have been, sigh) because this coat would fit better if it was made longer but not wider. I also immediately removed the fake fur. I don't know what it's supposed to add to the jacket besides perhaps style.
Recommended use is casual but you should be decent in drier bluebird conditions but at 25 PSI, you should be fairly waterproof. With a center back length of 27", it should be sufficient mobility wise, avoiding the 'rise up your back, snow down your crack' factor. For a jacket with further functionality, check out the Destiny down from TNF, it will serve your purpose better.
I love this jacket and the color. My jacket is cherry brown. It is very cute and warm. I get a lot of compliments when wearing it and the quality is great. Also, great deal for Northface jacket. Must buy!
it says that the belt is removal? but is it i'm a little confused someone has said that they had to cut it off. i'm just wondering if it is completely removable and if the jacket looks good when it is completely removed?
The belt is actually not removable for these jackets. The belt used to be removable for the Greenland Jackets that came out in Winter 2007, but the in the most recent winter season, North Face redesigned the Greenland Jackets so that the belt is actually attached on both sides.
I returned the jacket not because of the look or style but because of the length. I am 5.0" and the jacket didn't even come to my thigh. I live in Washington, DC and although we have mild winters temperatures do drop below 20 degrees and I prefer to be covered a little more against the wind.
It's warm, it's belted and it's crackly. Every movement in this jacket makes it crackle. The belt is big and too long so I have to double loop it at the end. The neck is scratchy stiff and it rubs on my neck when the zipper is all the way up. The zipper is also very heavy and difficult to unzip in a hurry and I had to step out of it when it snags. The hood is not removable but the faux fur is able to be zipped off. I found some of my other jackets to be softer, warmer, unzippable, and quiet. This jacket is none of those things. I wear a size small and I bought the black. I have never received one compliment while wearing this jacket but have received many wearing my other jackets by Lole' or Ibex etc.
Obviously not here. The best thing is to jump on "live chat" and work with those folks. They'll be able to look up if they have any on order, and if they do they'll be able to give you a rough estimate of when they're expected. Or you can check TNF's site.
Bought this jacket for myself and I am very happy with it. Only downside is the material is not silky. Therefore everything sticks to it! Such as your hair, lint, etc. The black looks dirty very quickly and I am very careful about keeping things nice. Despite that flaw, love the fur around the hood, the belt is super cute, and it's extremely warm!
I live in northern North Dakota and was looking for a WARM jacket and this is it. I have 2 other North Face jackets (aconcaqua and tamba kosi) which are warm, but when the temp gets below 0 not considering the wind chill which makes it MUCH colder, this coat keeps me very warm. I got the coat a size bigger because I put many layers on underneath, but wouldn't have needed to, because it's warm enough on it's own. I like the belt because it gives it a more fitted, feminine look. I get many compliments when I wear it!!

I was on the web site on 8/17/09 and this jacket was $125, I read that there was going to be a sale on 8/18/09 so i waited to see if this coat would have an addition saving when i checked on 08/18/09 it was $149, what is this about , SInce when does sale mean that the price goes up , shame on you back country I am really dissapointed
Write your question here...IS THIS JACKET MADE SMALL. I AM BIG ON TOP. I USUALLY BUY A LARGE OR EXTRA LARGE DEPENDING ON THE FIT IN A SHIRT. I AM 5'5" 180LBS. IS THIS RUN TRU TO SIZE. WHAT SIZE SHOULD I ORDER?
The good points: - Great insulation, the jacket shell is wonderful and will surely withstand very cold temperatures and wind. - Good design, it was cuter tham most dawn jackets
To the bad points: - I am a 5.7 and weight 130lb. I ordered a S but it was too short, my waist was practically uncovered if I happened to reach out. The sleeves were also slightly short. However if I went for the M it ended up being too bulky in teh chest and looked very top heavy. - The design although cute was not THAT cute, there are other alternativbes if you want a femenine jacket
I ended up switching it for the Burton Mischief - Superb!
I'm 5'7" and a busty 130 lbs. I have the small, which fits perfectly. I can wear a tank and cardigan underneath with no problem. The sleeves fit me fine also. I'd recommend you try the medium first.
I usually put in some good research before buying a new jacket, as I did before purchasing this one. I originally ordered a large from looking at the size chart, but it was very big. Now I have the medium and it fits great. It keeps me super warm without much layering underneath, even on negative wind chill days, and the hood was very effective when I had to walk somewhere in a heavy snowstorm last week. The coat also cuts the wind better than many of my previous winter jackets, which is really nice. People had mentioned that there is no way to tighten the belt, but this doesn't bother me. It's definitely a cute coat overall.
I ordered this in a size xs but when i got it the jacket was huge!!! It was more like a medium. I thought the jacket looked nice online but in person it looked very poorly made and the buckle design is horrible. It doesn't gighten at all.
I've seen it in person, and its more of of a TEXTURE really. Its subtle and only noticeable if you're, say, within 5 feet of the jacket. Otherwise from afar it just looks like solid blue jacket. Hope this helps!
I bought this jacket for my daughter and she decided she wanted a different style. I tried on the jacket myself and loved it but it was too big. I called backcountry.com and the customer service was unbelievable. They are shipping me the jacket in the right size, waiving shipping and getting it to me in 3 days. In this day and age you rarely get the great service that James W. at backcountry extended to me. I will definitely be a return customer!! Thank you for having him in your employ.
I ordered this jacket in black, it came in the blue plaid. I used the "chat" service to arrange an exchange and it was an extremely positive experience. I'm not thrilled with the jacket. I'm 5'9" and I feel like the jacket is small and the sleeves are a little short. If I had tried it on in a store, I would have bought something else.
I bought a greenland north face jacket and love it. I carefully followed the instructions for washing and put it on air dry in the dryer. All the stuffing has either clumped in on place or is gone! The jacket looks ruined, I am very upset as this was not or an expensive coat but the warmest best coat I have ever owned. pls help!
I am 5'6" and 125 lbs, I usually wear a size 2 or 4 in ladies suits and a medium in sweaters. I ordered a medium in this jacket and it is perfect for wearing over a fleece or just a shirt. You can't go wrong with this jacket.
I returned this coat very recently. The good news...Backcountry was incredibly friendly and made it very easy and painless to do a return. Another plus, the "ink blue" color was rich and flattering. The bad news though....I felt the belt was very flimsy and pointless. It did nothing to cinch my waist (no way to tighten the belt that I could find). I also have a long torso and this cut seemed on the shorter side. I felt like a wide blob.
I was disappointed with the color the jacket was when I received it. On my computer it looked a totally different color. They need to use basic color names so you know what color it is actually going to be.
Bought this jacket for my younger sister. She is ill and does not get out much but when she is able to, this jacket will keep her toasty warm. She loves it!
Hello. I am 5'6" and weigh 115 lbs. Should I get a small or a medium? I seem to always have trouble with North Face jacket sizing. The fleeces fit me fine (I fit nicely into a women's small) but the jackets in small sometimes are too short. Although I'm not supertall, I seem to have a long torso.
Hello, I am 5'9 and the sleeves are very long on me. My mom is 5'11 and she wears one too. Trust me you wont be disappointed! I also bought my jacket from backcountry .com
We got one for my wife on eBay, and it was fake. It was a very good fake and I was skeptical but when we got it... I have plenty of TNF stuff and it seemed "close" but not quite the real stuff. Anyway, the zipper blew out and we sent it back to TNF and they confirmed it was counterfeit. Hers says "550".
i own a NF denali in size S and it is slightly too small (the M was too big) and am torn as to which size to order. I would like to be able to wear sweaters/winter clothes underneath comfortably. Should i order a S or M?
This jacket runs big, I just ordered a Medium for my girlfriend and she's returning it for a Small. She usually wears a medium in most other brands, don't know how her size compares to other North Face jackets though.
Does anyone know if the North Face Tempest down jacket would be light and compact enough to take for overnight walks or is it much more suitable for skiing?
Unfortunately we can't ship The North Face items to Canada. But if you have a friend, or even a trustworthy casual acquaintance, that lives in the United States we can ship to them and they can forward it to you.
The fur in the hat looks pretty cheap, had to return it cuz it is a little chuppy on the body but too short on the arms. However, i'll return and buy more...
I bought her this for a Xmas gift and she loved it. I checked it out when it arrived... great build quality, all kinds of pockets... she loved the belt... more...
