Forget showering or dealing with your hair. You woke up at 5 a.m. to drive to the mountain before anyone else. The snow has been falling all night, and fresh powder is calling your name, and the chill in the air won’t bother you a bit. The Gimme More Down Jacket from The North Face is just as ready for the snow and the cold as you are.

  • • Water-resistant breathable HyVent shell helps keep you dry without getting sweaty
  • • 600-fill down keeps the heat in
  • • Lots of storage, including internal media and goggle pockets, gives you ample places to keep odds-and-ends
  • • Full underarm zip-vents allow you dump excess heat while you are punishing the mountain
  • • Snap-back powder skirt with gripper elastic keeps the cold off of your backside

Bottom Line: Powder is beauty.

my favorite ski jacket

I hesitate to say best-ever, but this might be my favorite ski jacket I have ever owned. It is very warm, so you can't wear it EVERY day, but the full-zip arm vents do quite a good job if you're going for a hike or just making lots of laps and start heating up. Just unzip the vents and the front zip a bit and keep on givin' er. It is a really long jacket, which I love, and it makes me feel safe and cozy any day in any weather.

I'm 5'1 and 110lbs. Would the XS be a good fit for me? Also, i read someone's comment about this jacket being long. Is it longer than a regular jacket?

This should be a good size for you, my wife is 5'4" 110lbs and she wears an XS. It is a couple inches longer than most jackets, the center back length is 29.5". Hope that helps.

Not for me unfortunately

I really hoped this was going to be my dream down jacket that I could use snowboarding especially because it was long, essentially covering the butt. My issues with this jacket was that I didn't feel that it was warm enough. I still found myself wearing an extra hoodie underneath. Also I got the XS, as a 5'1, 115lbs chica, but I didn't feel like the neck space was adequate when you zipped it all the way. I like jackets where you can duck your face into them while on a cold windy lift. Lastly, I usually like jackets with the wrist gaiters. The green color is AMAZING and I really wanted this be my perfect jacket, but alas it wasn't.

Great, but long!

This jacket is sweet, I so wanted to make it work for skiing but the large was just too long. It will make someone taller quite happy.

Love this jacket. I own 6 down jackets, and this one does not make you look huge like other puffy coats can. super warm, and functional. only complaint is the zippers are huge. I have the black jacket I thought the zippers were purple, but they are pink. those are the zippers that are extra large, kind of look like something a 2 year old plays with to learn fine motor skills. Other than that great jacket. Got it on sale ($200), best down ski jacket for the price. I think I'll get one in green too.

One of the best

The wife loves this jacket. First, she is constantly cold but this jacket is the warmest she has ever used - the 600 fill down really does its job. The jacket has performed well in multiple storms keeping her perfectly dry and keeping the wind out. The jacket is longer than most and hits just below her hips. She is 5'6" and weights 110lbs and the XS fits her perfectly. She really likes the fact she has the warmth of down with a feminine cut that leaves her looking like a woman as opposed to the Michelin Man. The hood is helmet compatible as battens down nicely in storms.

Downsides to the jacket is that it is a bit heavy, but that is typically the tradeoff for warmth. Also, wrist gaiters would be a very welcome addition.

best jacket ever

have used this jacket snowboarding at -5 & stayed warm. the pit zips make it easy to cool off- its 100% waterproof. has a 2 way zip and the green color is exactly the same color in real life as shown in the photo on the site. The jacket runs true to size. The only thing I'd change is the sleeves don't have wrist gaiters.
