Some down jackets, while nice and warm, feature thin, delicate shells that shy away from contact or any form of precipitation; not so The North Face Gimme More Down Jacket. This toasty puffy features a waterproof breathable HyVent two-layer shell that blasts through tree runs with aplomb and shrugs off heavy snowfall without a backwards glance. So go ahead, get after it with no worries.

  • 600-fill down in the body and 60g Heatseeker Eco in the helmet-compatible hood keep you toasty in slope-emptying extreme cold
  • Underm zip vents let you dump excess heat when you hike or after a long bump run
  • Powder skirt blocks snow and snaps back for trips downtown; can be connected to compatible pants to create a total barrier against snow
  • Rib-knit internal cuffs and adjustable hem seal out drafts
  • Packed with multiple pockets to hold your cell, goggles, tunes, and vices
  • Built-in RECCO reflector may aid ski patrol in the event of a slide
  • Buddy lift clip holds your pass or ticket
  • Includes 'Know Boundaries' sewn-in tag that provides a quick checklist for packing for a backcountry adventure

Bottom Line: For the girl who doesn't hold back.

my favorite jacket

The long length, high cozy neck, perfect pockets, bomber fabric, and down fill make this my favorite jacket ever for downhill skiing. Even if I go for short hikes, I can just unzip and open the arm vents (they go up the whole arm!), or just strap it on my pack and put it back on when I get to the top. And this color is amazing.

Hi, I just now saw this question! I wear the Bastille green and I love it, but I also think the black is pretty awesome as well if you are going for more of a stealth look. :)

I am 5'8" and got a size medium in green! I love it and get compliments ALL the time. Fun unexpecting color! Its warm and has good zippers w/ accent colors in yellow and purple. I also go The North Face snowpants in purple. I'm ready to hit the slopes but so far only went sledding with my kids!

I wear this jacket a lot on storm days, even really wet storm days in the Pacific Northwest, and I have never gotten wet and always stayed warm. It is not water PROOF, per se, so the fabric takes on a wet look for sure (as opposed to something waterproof where the water beads up and sheds off) but it does not get through the jacket at all.

It's water resistant so it doesn't have a rating. A piece that is water resistant, in my experience, will work in a light rain for an hour or so and in a light snow for a little. This piece probably won't hold up super well in a heavy rain or a wet snow.

I am 5'4" and about 115 pounds. I got the XS and it fits like a glove. This coat is SO warm, and probably one of the cutest coats you'll see out on the slopes. If you're going back and forth about buying it, you should just do it. You won't be disappointed.
