  • HyVent 2L fabric and fully taped seams block wetness
  • Chimney Venting System uses exterior thigh vents and gaiter vents to create airflow and dump excess heat
  • Articulated knees increase mobility
  • Hand-warmer pockets store heat packets on cold days

Absolutely Great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These pants are now on their second season and countless trips. I usually do not like ski pants as they are bulky, cumbersome and often times too warm. These are the opposite of all my complaints. They are light, move freely and do not cook you. They are easy to get on and off, have plenty of pockets and ventilation. Also, though I am sure it is passe, I have been known to just wear these pants with regular shoes when lounging around the resorts or just at home. They are very comfortable.

Cant beat em'

For the price, I doubt you would be able to beat this pant. Great fit, warm (but not too warm) and very durable. They look great too! A classic, ski pant look. Not too baggy, but not too tight. I have 2 seasons in these pants and they have seen it all. Rain at the resorts to sunny ski tours in the backcountry. They do it all. Side vents for when it gets hot, but just a touch of insulation when it gets cold. I am 6ft 183 and when with the Medium in the 34 in length inseam. Hard to find pants in the longer length, but i was very happy I did!

Excellent, affordable, comfortable...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love these pants, 33"waist and 31"length ; The M/Short size was perfect for me.
These pants are stylish, have a nice tight and high waist to tuck in your shirt, plenty of space for the jewels and they flare out to the leg; you can still look good, if snow bunnies are what you're after!
The bottom has a stretch layer to go over top your ski or snowboard boots to keep the snow out. Plenty of space for layering without looking baggy..
On a recent 4-day sking/snowboard trip the weather ranged from daytime highs of +4C to -9C ; the wetter snow gave no problem as these are very waterproof in my opinion. At about -5, a thin wicking base-layer was plenty warm; at -9 and quite gusty winds, i was out for 6 hours and had a thin thermal underwear along with the wicking baselayer and it was perfect. The vents allow for plenty of breathing when you stop for a drink.
I bought the insulated ones in case these were not enough, but i did not need them at these temps.
They clean (wash and dry) very easy ; Excellent in my opinion, and the sale price of $98, even better...

Affordable Excellence

These pants pack in a lot of awesome for an affordable price. Fairly waterproof to start off with, but be sure to keep washing the pants so they stay that way!
The Freedoms have a pretty killer look too. Pretty relaxed, without being baggy. Mesh lined vents ensure you stay cool on spring days lapping the park, but keep them zipped for heat comparable to an easy-bake oven against your thighs(providing you are wearing a light pair of baselayers).
If you're looking for a modestly priced pair of pants, look no further, Freedom hasn't felt any better!
I have a 30 inch inseam and a 30 inch waist, the small/reg works great with a little extra length for style.

Pants for a Party

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have 3 pair of these pants and love em. They are plenty warm if you are active, if not there is room for base layers. Wind and Waterproof. I am a 34x32 I order the larges for the extra room when layering. Waste band in adjustable.

Warm & Very Comfortable

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm a pant size 33x30 and got these in the medium regular. The crotch is cut low enough that you can pull them up nice and high over your waist to keep the powder out without castrating yourself in the process. They may not be insulated but they're plenty warm. I wore them on a -5 degree morning with nothing but a base layer underneath and was warm as could be. Makes me think the insulated pants would be way too hot if you're actually skiing or being physical in them. After several days so far the durability seems good.

Very good ski pants

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I read the other reviews so I knew they are slightly big and baggy. I ordered the correct fit (S/Short) for me (32/30). Been out with them 5 times now in conditions from +3c to -10c and winds up to 60km/h. They felt great. I don't get snow stuck in the cuff like my old ski pants so there must be some good design too.

Good ski pant, but very big

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These pants are pretty awesome. Good warmth and mobility in them. Also kept me dry. I will say I have yet to take them in any really wet conditions though. My only gripe is that they run very large. Like I never though ever that I'd get a size small, but I'm gonna roll with a small in these. My pant size is 32ishX30. But if you like that baggy look and feel then just roll with your normal size.

Great ski pant

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Previous ski pant was old style TNF Mountain Light just out of style and getting tight in waist. I was stuck between M/Reg and Med/Long. Reg was slightly short and long was slightly long. I wear 33 waist, 33 length in regular pants. I choose the long and I'm happy with the fit. The un-insulated version is thicker and heavier than the Mountain Light. Skied last weekend in warm slightly rainy conditions with just shorts underneath and stayed both warm and dry. After the sun came out I used the side vents for a little more air. Great ski pants for the money.

Great fitting pants!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought these in red, which is a great deep red. Lots of helpful pockets with nice amount of room and bagginess. Bought the large for my son, 6'2" 185 lbs. Fits perfect.
He loved the velcro adjustments for waist area.

Great tall pants

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are great, waterproof, windproof, long enough for 6'2". The only downside is the metallic silver version gets super dirty very easily. go with a darker color for longevity. i like the elastic waist adjustments so you don't have to wear a belt, although you can. i'm 6'2 165 with probably a 31" waist and the med tall is great with some sweatpants underneath or just by themselves.

Warm Pants!

These pants are really nice for your average day of skiing, I would not recommend wearing too many layers underneath because they are quite toasty as is!

How are these pants sized? Do they fit...

Posted on

How are these pants sized? Do they fit over jeans or other type of pants? Just curious if people should buy their size or go one up to be able to accomodate other lining items underneath. Thanks

Responded on

The are pretty big and baggy. I would not size up.

These pants are a true fit to size....a great velcro adjustable waist too........Please don't wear cotton jeans underneath this great breathable shell.....You can wear some Patagonia Cap3 bottoms if you want or something similar from another brand to keep you warmer if you need.....but please do not wear jeans......the jeans will defeat the whole purpose of the breathablility of the material. (You can always change into your jeans in the parking lot, for the ride home.)
