Fluxible fleece.

Slip into something a little more comfortable with The North Face’s Flux Power Stretch ¼-Zip Fleece Pullover. The recipe for this fleece pullover includes a heavy dose of the highly versatile Polartec Power Stretch fabric, which provides stretch, breathability, and warmth with minimal weight. The fleece’s exterior is durable, rugged, and wind resistant, while the interior offers the classically soft and comfortable feel of fleece fuzz.

Best fleece ever

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I needed a new fleece to double as a middle layer under my shell and also for lounging around the house in the winter months. Decided on this one and I love it. Sizing is true. I'm 6'2" and 220. The XL is perfect for me, not baggy and not too tight either. The wind proofing is very good. I wore it as a top layer yesterday while working on some Christmas decorations in the yard (30 and breezy) and the wind stopper worked well. Going to need this one in more colors.

How does this compare to the Patagonia R1 pullover in terms of warmth?

Responded on

I dont have much to say for the R1 but I can say that they are nearly similar except that the Flux is slightly wind proof. I own the Flux but not the R1 but I cant find any thing that says the R1 has windproof and we all know how much warmer wind proof is. Hop this helps at all!

Matt - Patagonia has gone downhill! Quality is not there and their products have gotten thinner, shorter and don't last like they use to. There are a lot of better products out there.

Perfect Midlayer

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my go-to midlayer for snowboarding and walking around town. I've taken this on several trips to VT/NH and have nothing but great things to say. It's warm, but breathable, and the exterior doesn't snag anything on my shell.

Awesome pullover!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This pullover is not a fleece, but a stretchy material similar to but better quality than Under Armour. The fit is a bit snug, but I'm 6' with a 46" chest, and an XL fits great! Great with a t-shirt underneath for casual outdoor activity or with a button down on a rugged day/ night out. Highly recommend!

I am 5'9"with chest 40 inches. which size would I buy ?

Responded on

I"m 5'10", with a 40" chest and I wear a medium. I wear it over t-shirts, baselayers, and the occasional button-down without any issues.

Super awesome

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I wear it all the time in sun, rain or snow. I use it as a mid layer while snowboarding in down to around +10F and for the most part don't need to take it off when i'm skinning uphill. While its plenty warm in the winter, I love that its not too warm on brisk days (60F).

Great Jacket/Sweater

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I currently have two of the Flux Power 1/4 zip and love them. They are sturdy, warm, and above all comfortable. The sizing is made for tight fit so if you want to wear it as an overshirt I would recommend sizing up. I usually wear an XL and ordered a XXL and it fits great.

Still feels new because I love it so much.

I have had this for 4 months or so, and it still feels new to me because I love it so much. I am 6'3" and 190 lbs, and I really like the fit of an extra large. The arms are possibly a little long, but personally, I like it that way. Compared to my Arc'teryx Apache fleece, this one stays softer after washes and is slightly warmer when things cool down. I didn't know what I was missing until I got this.

Favorite Performance Jacket/ Pullover and Looks Awesome too

I love the Summit Series Gear because of the quality, fit, performance and dang good looks. I have three of these and thinking of rounding out the set with the green one to top it off. The sleeves like all the summit series are long and the fit is athletic and so when I’m running, climbing..whatever I’m doing in the spring, fall and winters in Colorado- it fits great and keeps my core warm. I seriously wear these everywhere-

I find these also amazing at the gym. At my local rec. center they have a ton of fans blowing on you wherever you are and it’s easy to get chilled when the sweat starts rolling. I find these jackets light enough and breathable enough to work out in.

One last thing- these jackets look top notch too. I wear them to the pub / out whatever. As long as a tie is not the dress code I’m in this.

Highly Recommended

Am 6ft23 and 95kgs and the Large size fits very well. Excellent layering, especially with a base layer below it. The new stretch on the waist makes gives it more stability during any activity. the Polartec Power Strecth material allows for great movement during your hike, ski... Highly breathable and ensures warmth to the body in extreme conditions.

Would highly recommand it...

So cute and warm

I got this for my boyfriend to replace a hoodie with sleeves that were too short. This fleece is amazing! I got him an XL as he is rather tall (6'3") and the sleeves are perfect. He also claims it is the warmest thing he owns. He also looks very cute and snugly. Love it!

A Great Addition For Layering

The Flux Power fleece is a great addition to your layering wardrobe. It, along with it's predecessor, TNF Omen Stretch Fleece, allow movement without binding and warmth without bulk. The fabric finish is smooth unlike the typical fleece giving a less rugged look but perfect for the after ski party. However, if you like your fit looser, go with the next size up. Overall, I really like this fleece ... I have 2.
