Flint 1

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used the tent for a 5-night trip in the Grand Canyon in October. Durable materials and great cost-to-weight ratio. Easy to pitch. Did not have harsh weather or high winds so can't comment on that. Footprint grommets were placed slightly wider than actual tent floor grommets for tent poles. Worked great and packed down small.

Nice little tent

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Its a good tent. I like the mesh, as it lets a lot of air in which on humid Oklahoma nights is great. The rain fly holds up to wind pretty well and has enough space under the vestibule for taller people to put their gear. For me it has plenty of room for my gear inside (I'm 5'6") and just enough room to sit up in.

Light, very easy set up, held up to wind

I got this to camp out of my kayak which has small ports for packing and limited space, of course. It worked very well and held up under cross winds of about 30 mph, maybe a bit more, that buffeted me all night. At 5'3" I'm not a challenge to fit but this tent is long and so there was room storing gear at the foot and putting stuff I needed to get to at the door. Would prefer a side entry but for the price, you can't beat this. It is the narrowest free standing tent I've seen so weight is saved there. Got the foot print to save on wear, fits nicely.

    Best bang for your buck

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is not the lightest tent but for the price you can't beat it. I've taken it out 8 times on treks ranging from ten to 70 miles. I ALWAYS use a footprint underneath to ensure the floor holds up. I have no complaints.

I was initially hesitant about an all mesh design. I was scared about drafts and shortcomings in strength and durability but this tent truly delivers. The design is great! Providing space under the rainfly but outside the tent to store messy gear. The choice of stake down points with this tent makes it a rock in the wind. It is DEFINITELY not an all season tent but it sure holds up in a gust.

    Great deal.

I've been using this tent for the past few months, and have been very happy with it. Good, durable materials, more roomy than it looks, nice head room and easy set up. I'm 6'3", 220 pounds and am comfortable inside. Vestibule is a bit small, enough for boot, and maybe a pack (depending on size). The end entry is nice, and is very easy to get into and move around. Just get some different stakes, the ones it comes with are junk. Breaths well, I have not had any condensation issues. The vestibule door can be left open on top a little when it rain aiding in ventilation. Tent body, fly and poles come in at 3.5 pounds. All around nice tent for the money.
