Even if you don’t own a wood chipper or a four wheeler, the chances are good that you’re going to love The North Face’s Fargo Cargo Pants. These bomber snow pants come with a waterproof breathable HyVent membrane and a relaxed fit for greater mobility.

  • Shell made with waterproof breathable HyVent 2L fabric to shed precipitation and keep your most important assets bone dry
  • Fully taped seams mean water won’t roll down the fabric and sneak in through the crevices
  • Inner thigh zip vents not only sound intriguing but also allow you to cool off quickly on warm days
  • StretchVent gaiters come with elastic grippers and a boot hook to keep them firmly in place
  • Reinforced edge guards at the ankles increase durability
  • Park fit is The North Face’s baggiest fit that provides extra room in the hips, thighs, knees, and cuffs for hard charging and spicy acrobatics

Bottom Line: If you find a suitcase of money in the woods, leave it be.

Stylish, Functional, and Tough

These are one of favorite ski pants, and I'm on my second pair. My first pair was its predecessor the monte cargo. Now I'm on my second pair, the fargo cargo, and I couldn't be happier. These things are really stylish. They are definitely modern and athlete inspired. They are baggy enough that you have some extra room, a little sag, and still look cool, without being so baggy that you look like a park rat with a tall tee. I'm 5'8" and 160 lbs, and the medium fit perfectly. These things are super functional too. They have tons of pockets everywhere. The cargo pockets are HUGE and store a lot of snacks and other things. They are pretty waterproof and breathable. I used them all winter long, about 50 days of skiing, and skied in ever condition except pouring rain, and these kept me dry and warm, but not too warm. And after almost 50 days of skiing, the only damage is a few small nicks in the fabric on the inner ankle area from the ski edge brushing against it. Solid pants for a great price.

I'm 5' 11" and they fit in the length pretty nice. There's a small hook in the front of the pants cuff that hooks onto your boot laces to keep the pants from riding up when you move or sit. I think they'd be a bit short, in the length, for 6' 3".

I’m also 6’3” and just tried these on in large. they are just long enough when standing, but ride up a bit at the bottom when sitting. unfortunately they don’t make this style in tall sizes.

NF Fargo Cargo Pants

Great pants and they look good too. I wear a pair of long johns under them and I'm comfortable and warm. I feel like I should be headed down for happy hour in Aspen or Vail - not in south east Michigan where I live. I think I 'd do the bib style though next time. I'll try to pick up a pair at the end of season sales. Great service from Back Country and I even used the "Live Chat" feature for a little guidance on sizing. It's a great asset and handy resource. As a result, the pants fit great right out of the box - first time.

Hey, I'm having trouble deciding on a size. How baggy are these pants? Do they look baggy or are they more of a nice straight fit? I have a 30 inch waist and the small says 28-30 while the medium says 32-34. I feel like the smalls might be less baggy but I don't want the waist to be too tight! I'm 5'10" and 157 lbs, typical athletic build, kinda skinny. Please help. Thanks!

Well i bought these pants because my friend had a similar pair of North face pants. When i got them out of the box i new that i loved the simple style of the pants but once i got them on me i fell in love with the fit also!
I could not recommend these pants higher!~

Fit: size L and actually fits a tall skinny person!

Get yourself into these bad boys!~

Anyone who's read any of my previously knows that there aren't many pieces of gear that I have that I don't gush about but I can honestly say that these are the best ski pants I've ever owned in my 17 years of skiing. Warm enough on their own that I can get away without wearing a base layer and baggy enough that I don't feel restricted and can move around comfortably. The mesh lined vents are great for keeping me cool while keeping snow out and they fit true to size. The only knock on them if I could call it that is that they are so popular it can be a little difficult finding the size and color you want. That said, I wouldn't trade these for two or three of any other pants.

Pretty big guy only needs size L

By:
February 24, 2011

I'm 6' 3" 225 and the XL's were way too long and big in the seat as well. I would suggest size L. Great pants. They lean towards Neon green, hence the name "GLO". The pic is more on the Kelly green side so it's a little misleading. Great pants though
