So Stylish & Warm She wont take it off

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this ski coat for my 10 year old daughter to replace stunning Spyder 2 piece outfit which she finally outgrew. She's tall and thin, and the North Face coat looked like it was fitted, not boxy like so many other jackets we've tried on. Despite the concern raised in the previous review about it not being warm enough, the jacket is very warm. It's got special insultation, and my daughter says "it gradually warms up and keeps in heat". She LOVES it and has barely taken it off over the past two weeks. We live in Seattle and its been cold and damp here (low 40s/high 30s) over the past few weeks. Even so, she's been fine in the jacket with just a t-shirt on undernearth. We ski at Whistler where it can get super cold, so there I'll have her wear several base layers, and think it'll be fine. We got the Medium (12) which fits her very well (she's almost 5') Sleeves have a few inches to spare, so we hope she can get 2seasons out of it.

Not what I'd consider a winter jacket

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The jacket was cute, but VERY lightweight. We live on the East Coast and ski every winter season. For the type of climate and weather we have, I wouldn't consider this even a winter jacket, let alone a ski jacket. Even my daughter said that she couldn't see how this jacket would keep her warm on the slopes skiing. We returned it. She was disappointed, and so was I.
