The North Face Double Headed Toad 44 Bx Tent 4-Person 3-Season - 2009 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
The North Face made the Double Headed Toad 44 Bx Tent large enough for four adults, yet it weighs under eight pounds. Divvy up the pieces, and you have one reasonable little load. The North Face made this backpacking tent incredibly easy to set up—the easy-clip poles and color coded pitch system mean that even after that dinnertime Nalgene of wine disappears, you can still figure it out easily. A full mesh canopy keeps things from getting muggy, and the abundant gear loops and overhead pockets give every beanie, watch, and headlamp a place to hang. To go uber-ultra-light, pitch the rainfly only.
Bottom Line: Three seasons, four people, and very little weight to carry. Sounds like a party.

I love this tent. the roomiest 4 person tent i've ever owned. the setup is so painless and the poles snap into place sooo fast. everything is color coordinated and has several storage pouches on the inside. can also hang a lantern. the vestibules are PERFECT for storing your gear outside the tent without it getting rained on and you can also fit your dog out there so he doesn't wake everyone up at night. excellent tent. super high quality. i'd also recommend getting the footprint if you're gonna be on rocky terrain.

haakon, set up is a cinch. poles are easily snapped into place and fit together seamlessly to prevent snagging, you don't have to have the nest in place first, it can be used just with the tarp. also the vestibule is big enough to cook in if you have a jet boil or something. hope this helps

Hey there,
I'm looking for a 4 person tent, and this is the one i like the most after some internet reviewing.
I'd really appreciate a few questions answered as I cannot find all the info I need to be sure that "this is the tent I'm gonna buy":
1. How's the set up? Do you have to put up the "inner" tent first and then the rest?
2. Is the vestibule large enough for cooking?
Thanks in advance.

wasn't that pic from when we hit up the "B" in Bountiful in the Samurai?..haha..ah man...a crazy rainstorm came down on overnight and the whole place was filled with water..the 3 of us and our german shorthaired pointer were all unscathed by the torrential downpour.

Great Tent for summer camping!

Yes. did A LOT of research before replacing my old 2 Person Tatonka (from Germany). I needed a tent mostly for summer camping with my boys. In Brazil, summer equals very hot, humid and, yes, lots of mosquitos. It had to be big enough for me and my two little boys. I decided to go for the NF Double Headed Toad and have no regrets or whatsoever. The tent is a bit at the heavy side of the curve, but the space is huge. Two big doors. Lots of space. Everything I needed. It is very good for summer camping, specially when comparing to the other tents I see around. Very good indeed. If weight is not crucial, JUST GO FOR IT! In the picture you see my 6 Year Old boy, "Pipo". This picture was taken at Itamambuca Eco Resort (Ubatuba, Brazil). Great place, BTW!

Set up camp just below the peak, the tent was awesome even with wind gusting around 50-60 mph and temps in the 20's. This tent is comfy with 3 people but a little cramped with 4, I agree that if you had 4 your gear would definitely be outside.
Change me.
