Pre-washed for softness, The North Face Dogpatch Short gives you a clean khaki-inspired look, though the name may imply otherwise. Durable enough for camping and river trips, and worthy of getting married in, the button closing Dogpatch Short delivers total loyalty - much like its namesake. Front and back pockets provide ample space for momentarily losing the ring.
Bottom Line: Whoever heard of getting married in shorts? Someone must have done it; yay hippies!
Love these shorts/not fancy or high tech but look good, wear well and are easy to care for. They are perfect for the islands in Lake Erie in the summer.

Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. The shorts seem pretty durable, and the material is very comfortable. The only problems are that the back pockets are external (They're just sewn onto the back of the short and dont go inside the shorts like most pockets) and they seem to be rather short. As the shortness isn't that bad, I'm afraid to order a long in fear that it would be too big of a difference.
Well they fit well and the soft cotton works against the skin - more than adequate as casual shorts. However if you're looking for a dependable trail short, be a big spender and order something more rugged. Perfect for a bar night in a ski town with a pair of smoothy's and a cotton tee, not so great for scrambling up a mountain.
Hello, I have a pair of North Face shorts. But I don't know if they are the dogpatch or not. The bck lble says: Season :081, Fty.Code :T363+T763, Style :AU8W, TFN Pro :4500631173 / 4500631165.I love these shorts and wont more. Thanks Jacen
Hey Jacen,Your best bet is to contact TNF with the tag information and work with them. They'll be able to look up the tag in their system and let you know which shorts you've got.
These are nice-looking shorts, but if you are between sizes, definitely order down, not up! My husband wears 33 waist pants so I ordered 34. They are huge on him. Plan to exchange for a 32 since fabric & quality look great.
I bought 4 pairs of dogpatch shorts and I am delighted. The fit is great and the pockets are perfect. What's even better is that they don't have any of those stupid pockets within pockets so that you can't get your keys out. Definitely a 10 out of 10!
Good News: I love these shorts, got a pair 18 months ago on the clearence rack at a sporting goods place. The fit me well, I have a muscular bottom half, more...
