Description

New and improved.

You won't catch The North Face ever resting on its laurels; even though the Women's Denali Jacket is one of the all-time top-selling fleece jackets, the company went and made it even better. A total commitment to eco-friendly materials now means fewer greenhouse gasses are deposited into the atmosphere when it is made. Of course, you'll still enjoy the versatility of this expedition-weight fleece, whether you're breaking new trails in your snowshoes or dashing across a chilly campus quad between classes.
  • Nylon abrasion panels protect the jacket from backpack straps, ski edges, and other wear-and-tear
  • Zip-in compatible, so you can layer it with a North Face shell for a day on the slopes
  • DWR treatment repels light precipitation
  • Drawcord hem seals out drafts

I love this jacket. I purchased a medium. I like to have a bit more room in jackets, so I decided to go one size up from my regular sizing. The fit is perfect, I can move around without feeling constricted. The fleece is thick and warm and keeps out any windchill, and so far it has washed well. I couldn't be happier with my North Face jacket! I have worn it almost every day since getting it in the mail. I love love love this jacket and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting one!

I'm torn between a Denali and a Windwall... I live in Texas (it's summer 3 seasons a year), but I'm currently splitting my time 50/50 in Utah where it snows in April! Recommendations?

The Windwall 1 has a fleece weight of 100, while the Denali is 300. I own the male version of an older Windwall, as well as tried on the Denali, and the Denali is warmer and heavier. I would definitely go with the Denali.A much more useful jacket.

Personal experience - The Windwall's keep warm range is around 45-60 degrees F, while I'd say the Denali is good for 30-50 degrees F.

The Denali is going to be warmer and heavier and won't breath quite as well as the Windfall. Are you looking for a midlayer to wear in UT as well as a "winter" jacket to wear in TX? I would go with the Denali unless you plan on having a heavier jacket to go over it during the winter in UT. I don't think you could go wrong with either. The Windfall looks a bit better though.

*Edited - Thank you Eli. I knew the Denali was 300 and the Windfall was 100, I just had the names switched.

Awesome jacket

I use this jacket all the time, whether running errands on a chilly day around town, or hiking in the Sierras!

Cozy, cute color. Just the right weight for colder days. I would say it's true to size. I usually buy jackets larger so I can layer underneath, but should have just stuck to my normal size.

This was a Christmas gift for son's fiance. She loves it. She wears it very often. May be her favorite casual jacket.

White heather is more like a gray/silver.

I read other reviews that complained about the jacket shedding, but I have not had any issues. I ordered the white heather/silver (which is actually just gray) and have worn it with black shirts and black pants and never once had any issues. It is light weight but SO warm. Love it! I would have one in every color if I could.

I've been looking for a jacket thy is light weight and still keeps you warm. This jacket is great, only problem was choosing a color. So many to choose from.

I gave this to my daughter (age 15) for Christmas. It is soft and cozy, and the color is beautiful with her blondish hair. She loves it, and wears it almost every day. I'm glad I got the medium, even though she wears a small, because she likes to put a hooded sweatshirt underneath, in really cold weather, and it still fits nicely. This is the second North Face fleece jacket she's owned, and they really hold up. They are warm enough for Denver winters without being too bulky - so she can wear it all day long at school.

Absolutely love this jacket it keeps me very warm, Also it keeps me warm and comfortable especially across my shoulders, which is where I get cold. The jacket is light and not bulky. Love it and had to buy another jacket with a hood. I also bought a Denali jacket for my husband and he was also surprise on how comfortable and warm the jacket is.

Nice, warm jacket for running errands. Only wish the sleeves were longer. Other than that I love the jacket!

is this jacket manufactured in a 2XL or 3XL?

Yes. The North Face makes the Denali in XXL and 3XL, though you may need to go direct to the manufacturer for the 3X.

I know alot of people say they love these jackets but I REALLY do! When looking for a stylish lightweight jacket I wanted something warm enough to wear around town even in a blizzard, yet lightweight enough where I did not feel like I was wearing an animal! This jacket impressed, I am a bigger size I brought the XL size, I have large arms and find jackets hard to find for my small upper body and large arms, this jacket although big allows for adjustment with a pull in cord built into the piped bottom liner of the coat. LOVE IT! This means yes..it actually fits! keeps wind out, fleece keeps me warm, water does not penetrate through the fleece in a snow storm, although I didn't stay out long enough because I was running around town but I was concerned about this. I wear this coat everywhere, was abit dissapointed about the color combos not available but I think the Black/Turquoise blends in perfectly in New Mexico. Back country was the cheapest price with the best service. Expedient, Stylish,Sporty, Cheap and although I have never spent this much on a coat before I believe it is worth the money, if you like to go for early morning runs also this works great! Buy it! you won't be upset.

I'm 5'4, 105lbs and got this jacket in xs when a discontinued color was on sale.
This is a well built, nice, warm jacket.
The sleeves are long enough but the torso is a bit too short for me. If I go for a size up it'll look too bulky overall.
What I don't really like about this jacket is so many people have one, especially in black or gray. There was one occasion where four out of seven people had this jacket.
I'm glad I haven't met anyone wearing the same color as mine, but if I have to spend over $100 on this I'd get a different model.
