Wanted to love it

This jacket has so many great qualities but it was huge on me.

Wow, Great Shell, Great Quality

  • Gender: Female

I agree with what's been said so far on this jacket. North Face stepped up to the plate when designing this higher-end lightweight shell. It's longer length with ample sleeve length gives great coverage and the thin but very technical fabric with it's attention to detail (sealed seams, zippers, etc.) is top-notch. Not necessary to size up for coverage and layering. (side-note, the Brooke Blue color is beautiful!)

The North Face Cymbiant Women's Jacket

  • Gender: Female

This jacket runs true to size and has the quality and durability that you would expect from a north face product. This is a non insulated weatherproof shell that keeps you protected from the elements. Between the length of the jacket and the powder skirt there is minimal chance of snow coming in when you fall. Overall I am very pleased with this jacket but would be more stoked if the hood was a touch bigger & fit over my helmet.

My favorite shell

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wore this all last season and in Chile this summer--it is super durable, really long, and has a great fit. Perfect for over a layer on storm days, with a roomy collar and hood for when you just need to batten down the hatches and use the hood over your helmet.

Responded on

Is it breathable & light enough to be a good touring shell?

Responded on

It is meant to be more of a downhill skiing layer--not quite as breathable as the TNF Free Thinker jacket, and a bit thicker material--but the vents are excellent and I have definitely toured in it. If you are going to be hiking only or mainly hiking I suggest the Free Thinker, but if you mainly ride lifts with some touring, this would be great I think.
