These are extremely warm and water proof winter boots. Too warm to wear around work all day if you work indoors on your feet all day like me. I would highly recommend them to someone looking for winter boots. I recommend wearing them with smart wool socks..

These are extremely warm boots. Wear them with smart wool socks and they're awesome! However they're a little too warm to wear to work all day if you work inside. Made tough and look great.
Sizing is out

I had the old model and loved them. Warm and grippy. I wore 10.5 US in those. Found that the new model are one whole size out. Took me two purchases to find that out and unfortunately didn't buy a pair after all.

Very comfortable, very warm, very satisfied with this boot. Definitely buy 1 size larger, it saved me from having to exchange them. Highly recommended!

These boots are great - very warm and comfortable. I normally wear size 11.5, but after wearing my son's NF boots, I knew I had to go bigger. I bought size 13 and they fit perfectly.
Also, the day after I bought them, Backcountry.com put them on sale. I just spoke with Customer Service, and they are refunding me the difference so I will get the sale price. I am very satisfied with this purchase and will be looking to buy more gear here.
Broken Lace Rivet

Within two weeks of receiving this boot the lace rivet popped through the boot and was not repairable. I have had other pairs of North Face boots and found them to be high quality, so this could be a manufacturing defect and not an overall indicator of the quality of the boot. These boots were comfortable and warm while they lasted.

This is my second season with them, and they are warm and waterproof enough. Works well with snowshoes and crampons too.
Size 10 was too small for me, so I got my usual size 10.5. Even then the insoles were too thick and cut off circulation to my toes so I had to get some thinner replacements. Other than that I like these boots a lot.
Pleased with purchase so far!

Bought these to keep at the ski cabin! They are perfect, keep my feet nice and warm in the worst conditions. I wear a 12 and initially ordered a 13, too small. Then I ordered a 14 and it was perfect. It's not like I am running a marathon in them, they are bulky but perfect for what I need. Stay dry, warm, and easy to slip on for a quick trip outside. I would recommend.
Very good boot!

I will echo what others have said here regarding the sizing issue. My shoe size is a 9.5, so I ordered a 10. It was too narrow in the toe box so I returned it for a 10.5. This has worked out well with the moderately-heavy merino wool socks that I usually wear. The insoles that comes with the boot are very thin with little arch support (cheap!), so I've upgraded those with a better quality, more comfortable insole. Besides being my everyday shoe here in N. Idaho snow country, I've had the boots out snow shoeing a couple of times and they have performed well. My feet haven't overheated and have remained dry - what more could one ask for from their boots?! Another great product from North Face!
Love this boot!

This boot is ultra warm and has keep me dry in the mountains of banff. I love the way it looks and i'm able to walk very well in deep snow. The fit is very tight, i am normally a 8.5 and I purchased a 9. The shoe is comfortable if i wear thin socks. The boot becomes uncomfortable if i wear thick socks. If you do not like a tight fit, I recommend going a full size up.
I found fit small.

Ordered these up but never got to test drive them. Seem well built. I'm usually a 12.5 to 13, so ordered the 13 (never been a 13.5 or 14 in anything!). Well, i found my toes went beyond comfortable, almost touching the end of the boot in the 13. Didn't feel i would be able to wear thicker socks comfortably and thought a size 14 may be overkill, too sloppy, so didn't re-order. As others indicate, ordering a half-size up may be the ticket.
I Agree, Great Boots

I have had great success with these boots over 3 Winters and am very pleased. They privide good traction, are warm, and are comfortable enough to wear all day and night. I even wear them for travel so that I don't have to pack them. (They are easy on/easy off.) After hearing my positive raving, my wife got a pair last Winter and she loves them.
There was a reviewer who said that that the uppers failed on their Chilkats and TNF said "too bad, so sad", I find that hard to believe, not that they may have failed (which would be very unusual), but that TNF did not stand behind their product. TNF products are guaranteed for life and they have always replaced products immediately, for me, upon a very rare product failure.
Lastly, buy 1/2 size up.
good product, just not for me...

Good boot... maybe for others, but not for me. I tried them on, too stiff. Very good insulation. But backcountry.com always guarantess 100% satisfaction. Returned for refund... but this does not mean I won't buy north face ever again... I have many of their clothing items... they have never let me down in this regard.
North Face Let Me Down

I had a problem, my boots are about 2 months old, I was out with my family on a sleigh ride when I noticed a crack, the entire side of the boot gave way, exactly as you described, the rubber cracked exposing the inner lining, VERY poorly made. I've contacted North Face only to be told "too bad, so sad", warranty ended when I took then out of the box...not what I would have expected from a "reputable" company!

I had my soles on a pair of Doc Marten's seperate in a similar way. They were brand new and still shiny. I squeezed some Gorrilla Glue in the split and clamped it together for two days. The soles separated again about 6 months ago after 12 years of LOTS of punk concerts and college mayhem. Give it a shot, it may work for you and you don't have a warranty to void.

I've had a pair of these through 5 seasons with probably at least 70 miles on them snowshoeing and messing around. Mine cracked vertically last week while snowshoeing (where the toes hinges on the rubber lowers). Mine are also very used though. Hence I bought another pair.

I bought these boots for walking around Whistler in the snow and also at home when I have to shovel snow from the driveway. I listened to other review that said I should go up a size, well I went up half a size and they are perfect (if you want some space in your boots, buy one size up). They keep my feet warm and dry when walking through deep snow.

The boots were a gift to my 15 year old grandson. For me, it's always a challenge finding the right gift for a teen but fortunately he loved them. So as far as I'm concerned they were perfect boots.
Do these boots run narrow?

These boots run on a standard D width. With the toebox area being rubber it won't flex to stretch to your foot either.

I ordered my normal size and it was way uncomfortably tight in the toe and too loose on the ankle. I am returning them and ordering a size up. I love the boot itself and if it fits, I think I will be very happy.
