Strong and light.
You could wear bulky mountain boots for winter protection, but it’s much easier to wear The North Face Men's Chilkat Tech Boots. The streamlined design is crafted from a waterproof leather upper protected by Gore-Tex Duratherm, and they’re securely fastened with a lace closure. To eliminate the bulk that most traditional shell boots have, the synthetic footbed, EVA midsole, and Vibram IceTrek sole are constructed with modern technology that feels lightweight without sacrificing durability or protection.

The Total Package
Can't say enough about these boots. From other reviews, I read that they run small and so I ordered a full size bigger than what I normally wear, but honestly I could have gotten by just fine ordering only a half size larger. These things are roomy, warm, grippy (thanks Vibram soles) and completely unphased by wet conditions. I have been using them in conjunction with a pair of microSPIKEs for steep/icy trails, with a pair of Crescent Moon Snowshoes in knee-deep powder, and au naturale in wet/slushy muck. It doesn't matter, they're great every time. Seriously, these boots don't give a shit what you need to walk through; they are good to go
The north face chilkat tech
This boot is well made.water proof very good. I purchase size 12.this boot runs big. Purchase size 11.5 when this boot was on sale for 75 and got a better fit.i fish a lot and this boot was very good on rocks. My size is 12. So if you wear a 12 get a 11.5 you will have a better fit. Got two pair would buy a nother pair I payed 119 for first pair. Oh well you have to stop some some time. Very good boot. Thanks north face.
Can't go wrong with a North Face product
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
So I got these boots for someone and this what he told me.
This is a great boot, it has a lot of versatility. I originally anticipated buying this boot to keep my feet dry when going to the ski hill, but I am finding myself using them everyday use. They are light and comfortable and they don't have that bulky look like other boots. I have never had an issue with keeping my feet dry when wearing them and add a pair of smart wool socks and you have a full blown winter boot. One of the underrated features is the grip, they have great traction on both snow and dirt. For the price I would suggest this boot to everyone. North Face nailed it with this boot.
Are they warm
Will these accept crampons? I need a pair of boots and have a planned day trip for an ice climbing class.
