Great Boots - Size is Not True

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 13

I have had North Face Chilkat boots for years and they are great. I bought the North Face Chilkat II Luxe as a replacement for my old boots and the sizing is off by 2 sizes. I normally wear size 12, but after reading the reviews I ordered a size 13. The boots arrived and there are extremely too small. They felt like a size 11. I checked the labels and it said size 13. I am very disappointed in North Face. North Face definitely has some very serious quality control problems.

Want them to be good boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10 mens

I got these boots a a replacement for the McMurdo boot I used for 2 years. First, they are snug when you put them on, but they pack out quickly and I would say are true to size about the third time wearing them. The reason for the low stars is the rubber lower on the right boot cracked and split in three places between the foot and the toe where it bends. This was after about 3 weeks of intermittent use. I chalked this up to a fluke and returned the boots for the same. Hopefully they work as expected because they seem like a nice boot otherwise. The backcountry return process worked very smoothly as a side note.

    Warm and comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

Really like these boots. They are very snug through the ankles.

I keep them loosely tied and slip them on and off like slippers. They fit so snug that they don't slide at all when you walk and thats with slipping them on. If your in and out of the snow like me and hate tying and untying your boots, you will love these.

Do get a bigger size, they run a little small through the toe box, but very small through the ankles.

    SIZE CHART COMPLETELY INACCURATE!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

Working at backcountry.com and the number of times I have had to either exchange or return any boot from The North Face, I would not recommend their boots to anyone.

DO NOT get your regular size if you do purchase them. Go anywhere from a 1 to even 2 sizes up.

The insulation is super puffy and I've heard it described as "balloon-like".

    Great Boots. Too Snug.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

Everything was looking good about these boots, until I tried them on. Too snug fitting. Need to go 1/2 size up. BC, out and no longer in stock of my size. An excellent boot though! Am searching the internet to find them in size 11 mens.

    Great pair of boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

These are the best boots I ever purchased. They do run a little small. I ordered a 10 which is what I normally wear, but should have ordered a 10.5. Would definitely order again.

    Great boots

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small

I wore these boots in northern Michigan and they kept my feet warm even after hours in -20f temps. I originally ordered a size 12 and 13. The 12 fitted but 13 was far comfortable. I think the boots are true to size, it's just they are intended to be snug to maximize the warm. People just prefer the comfort of one size up. Also buy decent thermal socks and your feet will never be cold. Construction is strong and spent a week of kicking ice, walks, dragging down the hill while tubing and they held up with no sign of wear.

    Nice boots!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

These boots are seriously warm and seriously snug. I wear a size 9.5 double E (wide foot). You will definitely need to go a whole size. I originally bought a 10 but felt like a 9. I mentioned that the boots are snug but will eventually break in and will feel better (not that they're not out of the box, just snug)If it weren't for the size mishap I would have gave 5 stars. Northface has had problems in the past with their boot size and these are no different. Get a whole size and you will thank me!

How is the sizing for this boot. I am...

How is the sizing for this boot. I am Canadian and generally where a size 10.

    Thanks,

    Lawren,

Many of The North Face insulated boots run a bit small, but pack out to your foot shape with use. I would recommend sizing up 1/2 a size to accommodate for the smaller size boot. At this time, we do have the Chilkat boots in size 10.5. On a side note, we unfortunately are unable to ship The North Face to Canada, due to a vendor trade restriction. If you have an alternative address within the US, we would be happy to ship it there for you.
