Not waterproof "enough"

This jacket is pretty good for "general use" in a drizzle but if you hike in the mountains and there is a downpour, you may find the little pieces of paper that you stuffed in your pockets with important numbers were wet and "unrecognizable". The gear guru explained to me that this is because The North Face does not seal their pockets. I returned it and got Stoic eVent instead - didn't put it to the test yet. Will report back about that later.

    Great jacket but runs small

I just got this jacket in and was excited to try it on. The cut is great and really feminine. Like most reviewers have said, this does run a bit small.

I am 5'0" and weigh about 115. The jacket hit a bit passed my bottom. But the bottom of the jacket is real snug. Arm length though was fine.

      LOVE this jacket

This jacket is so amazing. North Face is top quality and this is an example of a fine product.
It is super warm, the fleece inside is really nice, soft and comfy. The exterior of the jacket really does repel water. Ideal alone for a rain coat.
My only issue was that it runs a little small. I normally wear a women's small, but it was sung on the shoulder and arms. I opted for the medium and it is perfect.
This is a slimmer style jacket and very nice looking.

I originally bought this jacket in Medium for my daughter. It looked a little snug so I exchanged it for a Large. (I'm not into buying Northface jackets every year)'s staff is excellent and the exchange was smooth. She loves the jacket, it should last her a long time. It keeps her very warm and the versatility alone always makes 3-in-1 jackets a no brainer. Definitely recommended.

          Gift for the Wife

Got this jacket for my wife as a Christmas present... she absolutly loves it!! has worn it every day so far!! I also got her a NorthFace rainwear jacket but she hasn't used it yet cuz she likes this one so much!! Thanks Backcountry!!

            Love this jacket!

My husband got me this jacket for Christmas this year and I couldn't be happier. The fleece is super soft and warm and the outer layer is great for rain and wind. Not to mention, it looks bangin! I couldn't be happier.

Bought jacket for my grandaughter for Christmas and she was so delighted...just what she wanted! Needless to say, she has worn it most every day since we have had many days of rain since Christmas plus she is making a fashion statement! Backcountry

was very prompt in seeing that I received the package on such short notice.

              need another size

I have been very very pleased with the customer service however disappointed that the jacket I bought for my daughter seems to run small and she requires a large in the black cedar falls coat and there are none in stock and no indication when it will be available. Disappointed.

                Love It!

This is the best winter coat I have ever owned! I can wear t-shirts in freezing weather and have this jacket on and stay so warm! I love how far the hood goes out when I have it up. I ordered a small and I'm 5'7", 125 lbs and it fits perfect. It even fits with sweaters underneath. I don't think this jacket will ever wear out, but if it does I will buy it again! Love it!

                  Worked for Me

Purchased this jacket in Extra Large for my 5'04" 135 lb twelve-year-old-daughter who has, regrettably, grown out of the kids sizes. She wore it skiing on 12 Dec 2010 to Alpine Valley, WI in 19 degree weather with 40 mph gusts and was still warm! Of course she wore polypropelene next to her skin coupled with a polarfleece 100 mid layer and she claimed that horrific wind never penetrated the jacket. Doesn't hace a clip for lift tickets, nor does it have a snow skirt but we don't do much powder skiing. Cant be beat for the price.

                    Nice but small

Love Backcountry! This jacket is lighter weight, nice material, soft inner fleece. I am usually an extra small- 5'1 120 lbs but I had to return because it is too small. The brown on the Moonlight Ivory is not exactly like the picture, more of a olive-brown than a tan.

Nice jacket it does run small. I usually wear a medium so due to the good reviews on the item, i purchased a large. Im 5'8". This is my second north face buy from this is my favorite purchase of all of them. However be advised that the color pictured is not the color you should expect to get. I ordered the loganberry which is pictured as purple however the color I got was mulberry on the sleeves and dark pink on the body of the coat.

not a very warm/heavy jacket. kinda feels like a spring jacket. bought a M but returned and got a S. now i wish i had kept the M.

                        Nice Jacket

I bought this jacket in Retro Pink. For those interested to know it closer to red than pink. I ordered a small (5'6" 130lbs), I have always bought North Face Jackets in a small, and it is tight in the arms/shoulder with sweaters. I will be exchanging it for a medium. If you like to wear thicker clothes/sweaters, consider buying the next size up.

Agreed. I also have the retro pink, it is a weird color- and my eyes still can't decide if its red or pink or dark coral.

I absolutely love it though. Keeps me warm and is quite stylish.

Again- I usually wear a large in TNF, but this runs very small and the large leaves little room for layers underneath.

                          love it!

i bought this jacket in black- i have only had it for a couple of weeks but i love it! it is super comfortable with the fleece on the inside. i live in the northeast and the tempature is very odd this time of year so i have used it with just the shell as a rain coat, both the fleece lining and the shell putting up christmas lights in the freezing cold and just the fleece with a pair of jeans. it is great all three ways and i have gotten so many compliments already! i'm usually a medium in northface products but bought the large since i knew i would be wearing it over big sweaters and sweatshirts and its perfect!

This jacket is perfect! I bought it in black. I'm almost 5'7" and 125 pounds and a Small fits perfectly. It's very warm. I don't own a ton of sweaters so I won't be wearing bulky clothing underneath. If I would then I would probably consider needing a medium. It's wonderful though. The best coat I've owned.

Can I wear my Denali fleece inside of this (and attach it instead of using the jacket given)?

I'm 5'3 and 110 lbs. and I've read many reviews that this runs a little small, should I get a medium?

                            Thanks for the help!

I received Loganberry red in M and need a L since this jacket runs so small. When will more of this color and size be coming in?

Is this jacket waterproof? I have the North Face Various Guide Jacket, and the water beads right off of it. I was wondering if this was similar to the coat I have?

The site above shows the coat I currently have.

Yes it can withstand the water and it has fully taped seams to keep water out of the stitching...up to 25psi of water hitting it...The shell is slick in nature and the water beads right off the jacket...This seems to be the same with all triclimate jackets that I have from North Face...

Has anyone has this jacket out in the cold? I want to wear it for a skiing trip over new year's weekend and I'm wondering if it would be warm enough.

Is there a logo on each piece of this jacket front and back or just the outer layer?
