Description

When the cold bites, your cat meows.

Don't let the velvety name fool you; behind its muted roar, The North Face Women's Cat’s Meow 20-Degree Sleeping Bag bites back at cool nights. This synthetic-fill sleeping bag comes with ClimaShield Prism insulation to keep you comfortable on your summer high-altitude trail trips and stand up to years of use.
  • Women-specific design matches your body’s curves and helps eliminate cold spots
  • ClimaShield Prism's densely packed fibers trap more heat than standard synthetics and help the insulation retain greater loft despite repeated compressions
  • ClimaShield Apex's fine-denier fibers reflects radiant heat back to you for a warmer night sleep
  • Vaulted footbed won’t constrict your feet and helps promote circulation to your lower extremities
  • Ergonomically shaped hood provides extra comfort, improves the bag’s warmth-retention, and reduces its overall weight
  • Internal draft tube pockets keep your batteries warm and your snacks within reach
  • Compression stuff sack (included) helps you minimize the bag's size in your pack

After my down bag got soaked in a rafting flip last year, I decided it was time to go synthetic. Synthetic is great because, unlike down, it can get wet and still insulate. Synthetic bags don't pack down as small and aren't as light, but it's worth it when you are camping near water. I am almost 5'5"and I went with a regular. I wish I would've gotten a long, even though it says it fits up to 5'6"because I feel like my feet butt up against the bottom of my bag all night. Also, I've used it a lot in the winter with a fleece liner, (super warm!), and when I do, I definitely wish I would've gotten a long. All in all, a good bag.

If you are a lady who gets cold easily, I'd only stick with this bag for the summer. I just recently tested the limit of the bag in mid October at about 10,000ft elevation when it got down to more or less 20 degrees F. This did NOT keep me warm. I had to stick all of my extra clothes in the bag for insulation, used my down jacket as a blanket, and cinched the hood to a tiny hole and plugged it with a beanie. The bag has 3 temperature ratings: the comfort level being in the low 30s F, the limit level being at the 20 F range and the extreme just below 0 F. If you don't want to test the limit of the bag yourself, stick with the comfort level temperature as a guide. Other than that this has kept me warm all summer at high elevations.
