    Great Athletic Fit Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this jacket right before a hiking trip to Colorado in mid September, used mostly in town and off the mountain. First off, I'm a male, 6', 167lbs with an athletic build. I shy away from buying shirts and jackets online because of fit. Due to my struggle this review will center around fit. A medium shirt (most often bought by me) has the potential to fit perfect throughout the torso and be too tight in the shoulders (insert the joke about wearing little brothers shirt). A large usually fits perfect in the shoulders but is too baggy and/or long in the torso. Having said all of that I gambled and purchased a medium despite the fact that it has an athletic fit. It is a tad snug in the shoulders but fits great otherwise. I tried on a large while in CO and made the right choice with the medium. If I layered more clothing underneath the jacket a medium would be too tight. Hope this helps!

    Bad-ass fleece

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small

This is the best fleece I have owned. I love it. Fabric is fantastic. As one of the reviewers recommended I got it a size smaller and that was the right choice.

    New Favorite Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

This jacket is soft and the perfect weight for chilly Spring/Fall nights. To be honest, I run fairly warm, so this is good for most winter days as well. Between this and my thermoball, the only time I wear another jacket is powder days on the mountain.

    Great for Convertible

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium

This is really a nice hoodie- Getting tired of the usual sweatshirt material. This is a much higher class- nice moderate taper fit. And it looks good. Love it. A tad on the small size though.

    Strange size

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large

I have several large half zip Canyonlands and I love them. They are great running tops early in the morning. I bought the hooded full zip thinking I'd upgrade. Huge mistake. The sizing is totally different on the hooded full zip. The bottom is so loose it's looks like it's made for a fatter person. It's not snug in the least and does not have a draw cord to tighten. If you want to take a chance on this, get at least one size smaller.

Wrong Color On Website - TNF Red Heather

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

The TNF Red Heather pic on the website is totally wrong. The color that you get burgundy almost purplish wine. Then you have to pay for the privilege to send it back. :-(

    My Go To Hoodie

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

I bought one of these after seeing the one my son bought and now this has become my all-time favorite hoodie, I wear it nearly every day. The material is very soft yet retains its shape well. It's a slim fit without being binding so it works great for layering under my ski shell. Warm without bulk and doesn't absorb moisture. I'm 5'11', 150# and the medium fits me perfectly. Get one, you won't regret it!

    Awesome layer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Great for climbing, skiing or just camping. Very warm and light weight. Got a large, fits amazing. And with the stretch it doesn't restrict which is always nice. Super soft and comfortable over all!

    Great climbing layer

I most often use this on multi-pitch climbs in the winter months in Red Rock. I love how it fits, its extremely comfortable and breathes well when I'm active, yet still keeps me warm when sitting still at the belay station. The hood fits well under my helmet. I'm 5'9", 150lbs and wear a small.

Are the North Face's jackets taller than their shirts? I have a North Face shirt in Large and it's a little small on me. I don't want to get a Large and then have it be too small, but I feel like the XL will just be overkill, or will be to wide. I'm 6'2" and weigh about 175.

      Best Answer

I bought the Canyonlands jacket in a Large. I am 6'1.5"/200lbs. It fits me perfectly (in my opinion). A little bit of room, not snug, but not too loose. Comes down to around the hips, at the bottom.
