Got this backpack for dayhikes, the sturdy backing is a relief on the back. The way the pack is constructed, it's made to sit high on your back and it is also recommened by the ACA (American Chiropractic Association).

I have used my Borealis for everything from commuting, doing trips to the Mid-East and as a baby bag when my kids were small. Great bag for just about any use.

I will look a little big. But it really depends on what you need the bag for. Do you need the space, then why be bothered if it looks a little too large on you? So if you haven't already thought of it, contemplate what you will be transporting and how often you will make use of all 1650cu. Hope it helps.

I bought the backpack for my son who is in college. I returned the backpack because it was not as big as I thought it would be and because the coloring on it was more black and pink than black and red.

I've noticed that the majority of TNF backpacks are quite stiff (material). Does the material "break in" and relax a bit after a short period of time? I just don't want to struggle with the pack accessing my contents on the first week of using it. Thank you!

It will soften over time but it is not going to be anything drastic. I haven't found the materials to be an issue with TNF products.

at 6' 180lbs it was too small for me. Its lots of pockets inside and out. Great pads on back and straps, xxx whistle - its got it all for a smaller frame like my lovely wifes (5'3")

I dont know if you were able to get a good pack or not but I would recommend the Isabella and maybe even the Angstrom... these are a lot better sized packs and are still bearing the TNF symbol

I ordered the North Face Borealis backpack for school and it is very nice. I would recomend it for anyone who likes style,durability,and comfort...if not then this isnt the pack for u. Ive actually never had product from The North Face that hasent exceeded my expectations.
