Nice to wear day to day too
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs large
This puffer vest was great for trekking. During the day with the sun out and a cold wind it kept me at the perfect temp. I found everyone else on my trek constantly changing layers. I was great with a long sleeve shirt and this on.
The size does run a little large so I should have tried a small. I'm female size 10 in Oz. It has a nice grain pattern on the material which you can't pick up on line. It has a comfortable fluffy bit at the neck so the zip doesn't annoy you all day, which is great. High neck is great as I have short hair so it provided extra warmth to the back of the neck when it was windy.
I took this one up to Everest Base camp and wore it every day. got it grubby and sat on rocks tied it to my back pack. Really threw it around. I washed it when I got home and it looks like new. Very happy.
I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she has tried many vests to find the perfect one. The search stops here - she loves this vest. It looks great and it is super warm. It is long enough to keep any cold air from sneaking up your back. The material seems very durable and stain resistance. Overall this vest is a great choice.
Perfect vest for a trip back East.
Purchased this vest in two different sizes since I was uncertain of fit but didn't want to miss out on great deal. Got the two vests so quickly! I love backcountry ~ their delivery is speedy and the return process as easy as it gets. Wore the vest during a recent trip to Indiana where the temp was 10 degrees. Kept me perfectly warm without being too bulky. Was a great leg warmer on my flight too!
Is this vest thinner than the Aconcagua...
Is this vest thinner than the Aconcagua vest? Looking for a thin vest not bulky and puffy. Also, can you fold the collar down on these vests? Thanks Jackie

- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
Bought this for Christmas present for our dughter in college in Pennsylvania. She loves the styling. It's not for the coldest of weather but is perfect for the majority of the year.
Nice vest - Love the color
- Gender: Female
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I got this vest in the Baroque Purple color and I love the look of it. It is a pale purple color and it looks like it's textured fabric even though it's not. It's a little bit puffier than I wanted but it will work for my needs. It's kept me nice and warm so far!
Vest is gray, not even close to black
- Gender: Female
The "black" vest is not just a dark gray, which I supposed based on the other reviews, and was okay with. It is a medium gray. Backcountry should change the picture and update the description.
I love the fit and the look of the vest, however the color TNF Black is actually gray. I returned the vest and ordered a different TNF Vest that was actually black. If you're looking for a vest with a great fit this is it, if you're looking for an actual black vest this is not it.
decent - colour off
great fitting vest, its nice that its a little longer on the torso.
I got a S as I'm an 32" around the chest and it was a little large, it'll be great for layering though.
Only issue was the TNF BLACK was no where near black - this vest is most ceratinly Grey.
