The North Face Beeline 900 30-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is a lightweight sleeping bag designed to keep you warm on fast-paced cool-weather expeditions. The North Face uses the lightest, highest quality, most compressible goose down available. This all-natural, 850-fill power down provides excellent warmth without the weight or bulk of most bags—the regular size Beeline weighs in at just over a pound. The 100% nylon HelioLite ripstop shell is soft, easily compressed, and contributes to this sleeping bag's overall light weight. As further testament to The North Face's obsession with creating the lightest cool-weather bag possible, they used a heat transfer logo instead of embroidery to save thread weight.

Bottom Line: When you're making a Beeline to the summit, pack this ultralight sleeping bag and pack peace of mind.

I'm comparing the Beeline with the WM Megalite. I'm 6' 225 lb and wonder if I'll have plenty of room.

I'm the same dimensions as you, and use a WM summerlite. Not an inch to spare. In fact, I ordered down booties cuz my toes compress the down. Great bag tho. Just wish I had ordered the 6'6" version.

Both bags are somewhat confining for good reasons. The Megalite is 65"/56"/39" & the Beeline is 62"/60"/38" with regards to shoulder/hip/foot measurements. The Megalite has more room in the shoulder & foot sack & the Beeline has more room in the hip area. In either case get the long version which these measurements are relative to.

As long as you are of average stature or smaller, I would say this is the best bag you can find in the temperature range it is rated for. Small, light, warm and ready to be tossed in a day pack as a 'just in case'.

The specs show that this bag has an "Open Hood." Does this mean it doesn't draw tight around your head in cold weather?
It looks like this bag might be a good one for a PCT thru hike.

you could compress the bag much smaller if desired and if you had a sack more capable of compressing smaller. this is just the original sack it came with.

This might BEE the best 3 season bag ever

I LOVE this bag, and recommend this baby to everyone! If you like to go super light but not sacrifice a cozy night's rest, look no further. I think this thing weighs so little because it's angel feathers. The zipper at the feet is great and will give you some good ventilation if you're sleeping in warmer weather but zip it up and it's an oven.

Being that this bag is for warm weather and down-filled, I'm concerned about condensation. How water-resistant is the HelioLite shell?

Stuff size amazingly small

By:

This bag is a perfect summer backpacking bag- I got the older one that does not have the 1/3 length zipper on it. (really wish I had it, it would be nice to have the option to vent a bit more) Highly recommended bag...if you sleep hot.

The perfect bag for summer and autumn. It's super light, stuff size is really small, it has a 1/3 zipper plus an extra one at the feet (across) for extra ventilation when it's hot. Best sleeping bag I've had!!

Pretty Darn Good Bag

Bought this bag awhile ago. Its super light weight and pretty durable. Does't have too much loftyness in it but it is a 30 degree bag after all. the compression sack it comes with is pretty efficient. The foot vent is also a great feature keeps you feeling good as you snooze through the night.
