For your yearly pilgrimage to Whistler or a summer schralping expedition to Argentina, The North Face Base Camp Ski Roller Bag protects you sticks and other gear from the rigors of air travel.

  • Padded perimeter protects your gear in the hands of shifty baggage handlers
  • The spacious interior holds two pairs of skis and two pairs of boots with a little extra room for jackets, goggles, and other small essentials
  • Removable interior Boot Cube with backpack straps lets you transport gear from the hotel to the hill
  • Daisy chains and compression straps to the exterior and interior for lashing on extra loads
  • The bag mates with The North Face Gear Locker for a fully functional luggage arsenal

Bottom Line: Take your gear closet with you.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

I have a 187 cm snowboard, obviously to big for the N.F. board roller. Will my board fit in this bag, i.e. will the innards, straps, etc. compliment a board or only skis?

I usually put two pairs of skis in here, plus assorted gear like shovel, running shoes, etc., then pad it with my ski clothes. The straps should work no problem with your snowboard--the "innards" are minimalist and should work great with anything.

this bag is sick

this is the best ski bag I have ever used--ok, it is a bit heavy but that's because it is bomber, it rolls really well without sagging, and I have taken it everywhere and stuffed it to the gills and it is still going strong. I usually put two pairs of skis, lots of gear, an empty backpack, and sometimes a helmet and I can get it just at 50 lbs.

Yeah, barely though. They'll push up on the top, probably take a beating from the baggage handling animals.

Does anybody have experience with ski bags - preferably with rollers? I usually don't travel with skis but I'm going to Europe next year. Are there bags that have space for boots and some clothes to avoid the cost of an extra bag to check?

Hey Jeulich, Those are all super solid questions. I travelled for years without rollers but have had a ski bag with rollers for the last 5 years and will never go back it's way easier and well worth the extra cash. As far as your boots and clothes go it totally depends on the size of your skis, whether you are traveling with one or two pairs of skis and how much it all weighs. In this bag I have traveled with two prs of AT skis (180cm and 160cm), 2 prs boots, 2prs poles and still stuffed in some clothes and made it under 50lbs. So depending on the size and weight of your gear it is definetley possible. This bag even has a minimalistic but functional removeable boot bag in case you are overweight and need to pull them out. Hope that helps.
