When you tote your laptop around base camp, as you always do during high-altitude expeditions, it’s best to use The North Face Base Camp Laptop Sleeve’s removable shoulder strap. Otherwise you might trip and fall, your bulky-gloved hand might not be able to hold on to the top handles, and the whole kit-and-caboodle might end up at the bottom of a crevasse. Of course, with all the padding in this laptop sleeve, your ‘puter might still be OK, if you could just get down to it.
Bottom Line: Your electronic brain might not need oxygen, but it still needs protection.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Mine will probably never make it to Everest, but it helps my laptop survive my daily commute without overburdening me with a huge, uncomfortable bag. The top zipper and no internal straps makes it easy and fast to get the laptop in and out, while the internal padding seems sufficient to protect it from anything likely to happen. If you need this to be a briefcase/laptop bag, it won't work. The storage areas are just enough for a legal pad, a few pens and the charger. Maybe an external mouse if you get creative. I have the L size, and my W500 ThinkPad fits nicely.

The TNF Base Camp Laptop Sleeve held my 17" MacPro with ease. It is well padded and made. I bought the red (so I can keep tabs on it when traveling), but you may want the black if want a more professional look. There is an organizer pocket for pens and flash drives...I was able to stuff a mouse and the AC cord, but it was tight. The only downside is the price, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
