Relieve your feet after a day of crushing vertical and slip on the North Face Base Camp Flip-Flop. EVA midsoles give you maximum comfort with the natural freedom of flip flops as you peel off smelly hiking boots and make for the cooler.
Bottom Line: Base camp is more of a mindset anyway.
O.K....it's just a flip flop but the egg crate foam is uber comfortable and these things last forever....These are the bombdiggity to use a technical term!
I have fallen for these... I have both black and the brown, and i plan on stocking up this coming year once the inventory goes up. The overall workmanship and quality is nothing that I wouldnt expect from any product bearing TNF label.

I have to give these flops only 3 stars... I wear a size 12, have since high school. I ordered up a size on these, to 13, as I do for my Reef flops.
My toe tips are about a solid inch from the front of the flop and the heel is right on the end. It seems the straps are set back too far. I don't need all of the room at the front, the heel needs the support.
Anyone buying these should go up 2 shoe sizes.. I'm now stuck with 2 pair that don't fit comfortably at all...
I guess I am the person TNF wants writing this review. I have 4 pairs of Base Camp flip flops. I mean, I actually go out of my way to purchase these as opposed to sandals with a different, lesser sole. I love the egg-carton foam pattern on the sole, and it is the reason why i own these. it feels better than any other pair of sandals i have used. They are ideal for any terrain other than snow. I know this because I have used them in nearly every condition including snow. I have forded a river with these and finished that day's hike with these because I was too tired and lazy to put my boots back on. they hold up after years of abuse. I will buy a fifth pair at some point, after i have worn out my fifth pair.
This has got to be one of the most comfortable flip-flops out there. Great looks, but the foam base is awesome. You may have to buy a new pair every year, because the foam cushion won't last more than a season or two based upon usage, but these things are the best. Size seems accurate. I had these the day after I ordered them. This site has the best service, it's right up there with Zappos and Amazon.
great sandals once you figure out the size you actually need. they run one size smaller then listed. you have to break these puppies in for a few days. once you do your off and running. they are extremely comfortable once you get them to fit you foot.
How do these flops run as far as sizing goes? I am a 10.5. Sometimes I need a 10 in flip flops, sometimes an 11. Does anyone know if these run large or small? Thanks.
I got these and the first day they were great. By the end of the first week I had to guerrilla glue one of the side straps back into place. Next week more guerrilla glue, different area. I have had these now for a month or so and i have had to do major surgery on them multiple times. I love the feel of them, and maybe i'm just hard as hell on flip flops? I'd recommend these to anyone who either doesn't try to do everything in flip flops or someone who doesn't mind doing a little shoe repair from time to time.
Ive owned 2 pair of these and I'll buy a third next summer. They are the best!! I wore them all summer long, the beach, Powell, or hiking to the crag, they do it all!
I don't understand all the positive feedback on these flops. I mean, when you first take em out for a stroll you're like "hell Yeah, these are crack for my feet", but then you take them camping. Base Camp Flip Flop? Yeah right! The strap broke the first day of a 5 day backpacking trip while I was stomping around camp looking for wood. Had to walk around like a gimp the rest of the trip when we made camp. But if you just want to walk around on soft grass all the time, these'll do just fine.
The sandals are confortable, and light. They feel great when walking, almost like getting a massage. And, they stick to your feet, some sandals out there move all over the place when you walk, or make sudden moves, these guys stick to your feet like glue.
The one pair I bought in 2006 is still rockin strong. They have held up very well considering the high usage they get; there pretty much all I wear besides chaco's, so... I wear a 9.5 and the 10 is a perfect fit.
I got a pair of these for my boyfriend and he loves them. In comparison to his previous LL Bean pair (which he wore for years until he broke them), he says they are about the same in comfort, but he still believes his LL Bean pair was higher in quality. They are way better than the rocket dog ones he tried.
I bought these after a bout with plantar fasciitis, after which walking on hard surfaces was nearly impossible and invited inflammation. Very comfortable. I wear them to the gym so that I can use the locker room and pool in comfort. I've experienced some separation of the soles and the straps need a better design to keep them in place, but it's nothing that super glue can't fix. (I'm heavy so my experience is prolly not typical.)
Very nice flip-flops after a long day with boots on, highly recommended. A year and some change later, they fell apart. From what I can tell, keeping them in my truck made the glue soften and it came apart. While these are very comfortable, I will most likely go with a leather flip flop next time for durability.
Piece of garbage! I bought these flip flops thinking they were a deal and they didn't even last two weeks. The are comfortable but the toe straps are poorly attached. I'm sending them back.
I have had mine for about 10 months now and the strap broke last weekend. I was carrying a cooler through a river bed and was probably being a little too hard on them. THEY ARE THE BEST ever Ever EVER!!!! People who don't know me wish they did, and people who do wanted to be me! I am going to send them back to North Face for hopefully a replacement pair, b/c I was absolutely living the dream and I sulk every single time I leave my house not wearing the most comfortable, foot loving, girl pulling, flip flops I have ever owned... I only hope they will mail them overnight! BUY 2 pair, b/c someone is ALWAYS wearing them when you aren't!
These are the most comfortable flip flops money can buy. They aren't built for heavy duty activity like chacos, but you cant beat the comfort and style. A lot of people ask me about them, and the first thing they say is "those look really comfortable." and that they are.
these things not only look good...they feel like you are getting a foot massage with every step..of course they feel best when new they are still comfy after use.
I bought these flip flops for my son in law. He absolutely loves them and tells me they are the most comfortable flops he has ever owned. I am now about to buy some more for my daughter.
These flip flops are great. Very comfortable. I wear these all the time. This model is way more comfortable compared to last years Base Camp Flip Flops. Highly recommended.
After a long run, either on the trail or pavement, these flip-flops are very soothing. The egg crate style ridges and soft strap add to the post run recovery.
Great flip flops anywhere, anytime... I wear these working in the yard, around the camp fire, I take them on backpacking trips. You cant go wrong not matter what you want to use these for.
These are the best flip flops to wear when your feet are sore after that brutal approach! Take off your hiking boots and put these babies on for instant relief. The egg crate footing they have is to die for! I'm buyin another pair for house shoes right now!!!
O.K....it's just a flip flop but the egg crate foam is uber comfortable and these things last forever....These are the bombdiggity to use a technical more...
I have fallen for these... I have both black and the brown, and i plan on stocking up this coming year once the inventory goes up. The overall workmanship more...
