  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

Even though I haven't had a chance to use them much, nor in the cold or snow, but they fit great and are comfortable right out of the box. True to size. No need for additional insoles like most boots. I can tell already that these will keep my feet warm in the north east winters. Great products. They look great too! Cool color (khaki), and the yellow laces are a bonus. Get them while you can, I don't think they are being made anymore and the price is great. Worth every penny.

Warm, Durable, Waterproof Leather Boot

These are are warm, and the fit was spot on, I'm between a 9.5-10.5, went with the 10 and they are perfect! I didn't get to use them much up on the mountain as I would have liked, got them a little late. Looking forward to being prepared next season.

wayy better than the sorel caribou

Super durable and comfortable. Quite well made, nearly too warm but with snow on the ground you will not have wet feet.

      Best boot hockey boot...ever...

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Bought these for a few reasons. When you film outside during the winter in MN you definitely need a boot that can keep you comfortable all day; they definitely accomplish that.

More importantly, I rang in the new year by shoveling off a boot hockey rink on the lake and played til 4:30 am. The boots did not disappoint.

Also, I should mention that I was wading through Lake Superior on the solstice and they kept my feet completely dry.

      Amazing boot and very stylish

Love this boot. I have used several The North Face products over the years and I must say this is by far the best boot I have owned. Light weight, comfortable, stylish, great quality and all around winner. Love everything The North Face put into this boot. True to size and fits amazing. This is a great boot for wear around town, going to work, outdoors work, hiking and more. I am sure this boot will last for years to come. Love it. And a BIG Thank you to Back Country for it's great customer service agents and fast shipping. Best outdoors company I have shopped with so far.

      Great boot!

This boot is out of the box comfortable. Sized a bit small, so I would suggest 1/2 size larger. I usually wear 9, the 91/2 fit perfectly. Great looking boot with jeans, khaki, shorts, etc...

It looks like there is a lip on the front...

It looks like there is a lip on the front of the boot, would these be compatible for casual crampon hiking?

There is indeed a lip around the whole shoe where the sole meets the upper. I wouldn't recommend using a step in crampon with this even if you could actually get it on there as the boot wouldn't hold up very well. Strap-on would be the best bet.
