I'm looking for a warm jacket to use next...

I'm looking for a warm jacket to use next winter at the mountains in New Hampshire. I'm for a much warmer place (Brazil), and I'm a large size at most of my clothes at the United States. Do I need a XL size for this jacket or a L size will be enough? How many layers I will need to stay warm?

This jacket will definitely keep you warm depending on what activities you will be doing. If you are hiking or skiing, you will want at least 2 layers underneath (moisture wicking and tight fitting base layer along with a fleece or similar midlayer). Since you are from a warmer climate, it might be good to have an extra layer available just in case. As for size, I would suggest taking measurements and comparing to those recommended on the sizing chart. If a size Large is normally a comfortable or slightly loose fit in most clothes, you will be fine with a Large in this jacket.

This jacket was perfect for skiing...lightweight, but very warm. Venting worked out great once it got too hot from skiing.

I bought this for my daughter who rides a scooter around London as her main transport. She works on film production so spends time outdoors in the cold, English winter. She loves the jacket which keeps her warm and dry both at work and on her scooter.

Bought this jacket, in white, for my wife for Christmas...she LOVES it. Very good quality as expected...Light weight but very warm...VERY stlyish...already many compliments from our friends and family,my daughter wants one. I don't get the complaint of the previous reviewer about the fur on the hood,it's typical faux fur. Did she expect real fur? Really. Jacket is expensive but we like it.

I was a bit disappointed with this jacket. The quality was superb. However, the fur on the hood was not soft at all and looked a little out of place with the rest of the jacket.

i bought this jacket for my girlfriend, she loves it, and ive been a skier for 15 years and i agree with the above poster that the quality is amazing, i got it in white, the fur quite matches the white nicely, i dont know about the other colors but i saw the black and pruple versions at a north face store in person and they look great aswell, i guess it all depends on your style.
