That's why The North Face developed the three-season Asylum Bivy with highly water-resistant and breathable DryWall fabric. New for 2011, this lightweight, single-wall fabric prevents spring showers from getting in thanks to its fully taped seams and PU-coated floor. In addition to repelling the elements, DryWall fabic is also exceptionally breathable to prevent unwanted condensation during summer nights.

  • Single-wall bivy design saves weight by eliminating the need for a tent canopy and fly; ideal for three-season climbing and trekking applications
  • DryWall waterproof breathable fabric is lighter and has a higher tear strength than a standard PU tent fly
  • DryWall fabric provides improved breathability (869 g/m2) over other single-wall tent fabrics so that condensation doesn’t ruin your trip
  • Floor features a 3000mm PU coating for supreme protection from wet surfaces
  • Two solid DAC aluminum poles make the Asylum easy to assemble and provide 25 inches of headroom
  • Poles are made with DAC's Green Anodizing process, which eliminates the chemical polishing stage, reduces the need for hazardous chemicals, and recycles water throughout the rinsing process
  • Mesh door and a mesh footbox vent allow plenty of hot air to escape without letting bugs inside
