Pretty good, but not for me.

These shoes did pretty well on the trails and in wet conditions, but the one problem I had was that they were too loose even when I tightened them all the way, there was too much slippage when going down a steep hill. And once again, as with all shoes these days, the sole was multi-colored, and thats always a weakness in shoes, but these were less colorful than others, which is why I purchased them. Built pretty dang well though. I would definatly do the downhill test somehow before you wear them outside just incase you want to return them.

This shoe screams for the trail. My only cautionary advice is: order at least 1/2 shoe size larger than you normally wear. This shoe is awesome in all weather on any trail.

At the NF site, they mention that they offer "neutral guidance for "mild pronators."Also they have medial posting which generally offers pronation support. So I'd guess stability.

The North Face Arnuva 100 TR GTX

I think they're great. I didn't have to buy a 1/2 size bigger as reviewed below , in fact I recommend not doing that, they're pretty true to size. TNF's Northotic insole is supportive of your arch and there is a lot of heel cushion. Get 'em they're goooood.

Meets my need

By:

I bought these to be completely waterproof, as I've really appreciated that in a pair of studded Ice Runners I used all winter in ice and snow. Compared to my water-resistant Brooks ASR running shoes, the North Face Arnuva 100 TR GTX truly is more waterproof, though I did get wet once so far by stepping in a puddle deeper than the shoe (not much a shoe can do about that.)

I've been surprised how warm they are when worn indoors, compared to the ASRs. I suspect that will limit my use of them to days I really expect rain, and that I'll still use the ASRs when there's only a chance of rain.

I'm not usually a trail runner, so can't comment on that aspect of the North Face shoes. On pavement or asphalt, they are noticeably slower than my Newtons, about 2 minutes slower in a 5K, with much of that difference due to having to run more carefully in the rain. (The good news is that now I _CAN_ run in the rain.)

My main use for these is walking 4 miles a day to work on rainy days, and they are wonderful for that.

Overall, I'm really glad to have them, and would buy them again.

These are OK but could be better.

By:

These shoes are ok, but not really the shos I wanted. It does have the Gortex to keep my feet dry but lacks the Boa laceing I like. Also my left foot is pinched sometimes every couple of steps. They could have been better engineered. I would buy North Face shoe again though if I tryed them on first instead of getting them online.

Great for cold weather

By:

I got these shoes with the North Face GTX Winter gaiters for running in slush/snow. I live in North Idaho and run forest roads and single track. Up here we often see snow until June in the mountains and then it comes back a few months later. I've found these shoes to be waterproof, to have great traction even in the snow\mud, and to be very comfortable. They are breathable enough and light enough that I plan to wear them in the summer, as well. I wear between an 11.5 and a 12 and I ordered a 11.5. I tried a 12 on before and it was a bit too loose. The 11.5's felt tight until I had run about 30 miles in them and now they fit like a glove. I have narrow feet.

he North Face Arnuva 100 TR GTX Trail Running Shoe

I took these out and on my first time I felt the TPU lacing cage support saving my ankle from rolling once or twice. and super comfortable-they survived the downhill portion of my run-which is the true shock absorbency test.

I purchased these shoes for wearing to work. They are comfortable, keep me dry, and The North Face has a good reputation for putting out durable products.
