The North Face used sonic-welded seams and external taping to increase the Men's Apex Free Line Jacket's water resistance for bad-weather days in the mountains. This highly breathable softshell makes a great jacket for everything from backcountry skiing to mountaineering to extreme sledding. The Apex Free Line Jacket's two chest pockets provide easy access to necessities without interference from a harness or pack hip-belt. Whether you go up or down, this softshell from The North Face gets you there in comfort.

Bottom Line: Stay dry with The North Face Apex Free Line Jacket.

Solid all around jacket

I'm really quite pleased with this jacket. I wear this jacket everyday. I can wear it in fall or on a warm rainy day, but when layered properly, it provides excellent warmth while snowboarding.

I have only one grief with the jacket and that's the way the hood attaches as there is a sort of stiff piece between the jacket and the hood. Unless you push the hood all the way down, that stiff piece sort of pokes you in the back of the head. It annoyed me at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly, and the jacket feels excellent when the hood is up.

Killer sofshell that keeps you warm and dry.

By:

First glances reveal an midweight ultra minimal design while sporting roomy dual napoleon pockets & dual handwarmer pockets, enough storage room for the essentials. Took this out in stormy conditions with very heavy winds, and surprisingly stayed warm and dry...really changed my perception of what a pro style softshell can do for you. Fit is semi-snug without being too tight or bulky. If you are looking for a high end softshell, consider this one of the best on the market.

worth the money

The stretch factor is just amazing in this coat. It has a fitted cut, but you don't notice it with how nice and stretchy it is. I am 6'2" and 200 pounds and the L fits perfectly. The arms are plenty long for me, so they might be a little long if you are short. Bomber seams too.

Silly softshell, dry is for Gore Tex

By:

Just got this one and I skied in it for the first time last weekend. I thought I would be cold, cause its so thin and the sun was not out. But as soon as I started skiing I was warm the rest of the day. The jacket looks good and stretches better. Kept me dry and warm on a flurry filled day in the Wasatch front.

Snowkite Maniac Jacket

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I just recieved this jacket, props for fast delivery. This jacket will be perfect for trudging through the snow setting up my kite lines, breathable enough to keep me from sweating buckets but with the taped seams and waterproof materials it will keep me nice and dry from crazy windy kiting weather.
