The North Face used its Apex Climateblock fabric in the Women's Apex Bionic Hooded Softshell Jacket. If that sounds like a lot of techy, what-the-hell-does-that-mean terminology, just stick with us for a second. This softshell uses a waterproof breathable laminate to block wind and drizzle, while the stretchy fabric allows for a range of motion that hardshells can only dream of. A hood and a fleece backing enhance your warmth and comfort.
Bottom Line: Stay warm and keep the wind from taking your breath and body-heat away.

If you only owed one jacket this is the one to own!!! It is so versatile. It is great for a wide range of temperatures and great for rain. Dog hair just brushes off and spills wipe off easily.

I'm 5ft 90lbs and the XS was too loose in the upper back. The hood was too small to be useful. Too bad I had to return because I really love the material and color (moonlight ivory).
Does the hood have a drawstring closure? Or how is it kept

No, there is no drawstring on the hood.
The trim is slightly bunched and the material has some stretch--that is about it as far as how it stays on your head. You can kind of see it in the picture.

I bought this for my 14 yr old Grand-daughter she absolutely loves it! Keeps her warm and great for blocking the wind just like it stated in the description, I was reluctant because it was so light weight.I am glad to know that my grand-daughter is nice and warm walking back and forth to school in our New England cold weather. I also bought the gloves to match.

I bought this jacket because I needed something adequate for biking downhill in NM in the middle of winter and so far its holding up quite well. Its about mid-level warmth, very sturdy, and great for blocking the wind (the primary reason I got this one instead of just fleece). Also easy to layer under for added warmth.

My daughter has one of The Northface fleece jackets, its okay when it is cold, above 40. She needs something she can move around in but stay warm when the wind is whipping. We live in Oklahoma, and while it isn't consistantly cold, there are times when the windchill dips and we have a cold front move in. How would the apex bionic work for this type of weather. And like I said it needs to be warmer than the reversable fleece zip up

i have The Northface Apex bionic softshell jacket, and i dont wear it when it gets below freezing. Thats when i switch to 700 fill down.

Yes, two of them. It is made with the inside of the side pockets and the front of the jacket. They are the perfect size for googles or gloves.
