Layer up with The North Face Men’s Annapurna ¼-Zip Fleece Sweater for cold weather climbs in the high peaks. This Polartec Thermal Pro pullover is ideally suited to aerobic days in the alpine thanks to its stretchy and insulating sweater knit. A deep front zip helps dump heat on strenuous uphill slogs, and the patch chest pocket holds your lip balm and sunscreen.

Bottom Line: A light, stretchy layer for cold-weather climbs.

Great for Your Heavy Layer

By:
August 22, 2010

I brought this fleece on a 10 day backpacking trip to the Rocky Mountains and it served as my warmest layer. If you are bringing a capilene base-layer as well as a rain jacket this fleece is great for your layer in between those two if it gets really chilly. I never felt cold in it on nights when were at 10,000 feet elevation next to glacial lakes. I would say it's a great buy for any camping trip as well as for just a casual fleece at school or for winter weather.

Nice layering shirt...

Nice lightweight layering shirt. I'll use it on mild days as a stand alone, if there is a chilly breeze, I find myself grabbing for a jacket. It does seem to run a little small. I'll give it a 4 out of 5. The price leaves me feeling a little unsatisfied, but overall it's lightweight, breathable, and will be a good insulator layer under a shell.

Not what I wanted

By:

I was looking for a middle layer for my TNF heathen jacket. I don't think this material is warm enough to keep me warm in the winter (combo). The cut for a size medium is quite tight around my torso (medium usually is on the loose side for me). The material is very soft... like wool blend. I don't like wool much. :(

I ended up returning this fleece and got a Delani WindPro jacket as the middle layer for my Heathen jacket. I'm much happier with this combo.

Nice light weight fleece

I really like this fleece - it is just the right weight for layering. I wear a TNF Velocitee shirt under and it is the perfect combination for work or play. It gives me an additional layering option for skiing.
