When you think of a fleece, you don't typically picture something with a long, urban style like The North Face Women's Angelica Fleece Parka. That's because this fleece isn't typical. A silky smooth liner lends the inside of this parka a heavenly feel, and the tall collar? A subtle touch of design that's as functional as it is stylish.

  • Morning side fleece fabric has a soft feel, keeps you warm on brisk fall and winter days, and dries quickly in case you encounter some light precipitation
  • Silken fleece backer makes the inside of this jacket feel buttery-smooth and allows it to easily slide over other layers
  • Tall collar protects your neck against frigid winds and weather
  • Elastic bound cuffs keep cold air from creeping up the sleeves
  • Stitched ribbing adds flattering detail to the waist

Comfy and stylish

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I absolutely love this jacket. I also have the north face Denali jacket and I personally think this parka fleece is not only warmer but more stylish. I am 5 foot 4 inches, about 130 pounds and ordered a small. The sleeves fit perfectly and the fit is more slimming. The collar gives it a fresh look but since it is lined, it is amazingly soft and warm. The pockets are deep but not too baggy. However, I am nervous that after a few washes, they'll become baggy. Great buy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

This jacket has a flattering, feminine style, and those with a long torso will appreciate the extra length. The outer fabric is a soft, brushed fleece, and the inner material has a velvety feel. Unlike other fleece jackets that start to pill or look worn almost immediately, this one still looks the same after washing and drying it twice. I originally ordered a size M, but exchanged it for a size S because the sleeves were a little too baggy for my taste (I'm 5'7", 125 lbs.) I can comfortably wear a form fitting long sleeve tee or sweater underneath, and have worn the fleece itself under another jacket without feeling too bulky. Overall, a great value, especially on sale.

*Update: After washing and drying for a third time (gentle cycle, low heat), I noticed a little bit of pilling. Looks like it might be best to wash it inside out and lay it flat to dry.

*Note: The black fleece has a black interior lining throughout, as pictured on the website. The lining on the brown fleece, however, is not as pictured. It has a white lining on the inside of the collar and down the front zippered portion (see photo). I don't have the blue jacket, so I'm not sure about that one.

Love It!

question of whether or not there is a photo on the back of the jacket or not. Checked out TNF's site and pulled this pic up that shows the back. As always, if you ever get something something from Backcountry that isn't quite what you wanted, you can take advantage of the great return policy.

and... comparing with the Caroluna... which is heavier and which is more flattering?

I would also Angelica is heavier but overall Caroluna is more flattering. This parka is nice because in my perspective, it is a "more tapered fit" than the Denali jacket so it's better to wear on a night out but the Caroluna is the jacket more for flattery all the time

are the sleeves lined the same as the...

are the sleeves lined the same as the backing described? And does the tapered look in the back flatter the same as the Caroluna ??

Is this fleece material and fit at all...

Is this fleece material and fit at all similar to TNF Khumbu fleece?

Thank you! I wear a large in the Khumbu but I'm 6'0" so I was looking for something longer, and often end up with XL just for the added length in the arms and body. When you say "slimmer", is the fit more typical of some of the TKA 100 slimmer fitting fleeces, though? Because in trying those on in stores, they seemed to fit a lot smaller and I'd need an XL for shoulder width, etc. Thanks for your help!
