Some puffies make it look like you’re smuggling a football player underneath your jacket. Not so with The North Face Women’s Amore Down Jacket. This ski jacket’s 600-fill down has a low profile and diagonal quilt lines for a slim look.
HyVent 2L fabric helps block wetness
Powder skirt keeps snow out during yard-sales and snaps back to reduce bulk for casual wear
Wrist pocket with goggle cloth for quick wipe-offs
I ordered the blue in a large but upon receiving it, noticed it was a bit too large for me. Swapped it out for the medium and it fit perfectly. The blue is not electric - it's gorgeous. And it's a puffy jacket that doesn't make you look like you gained 300lbs when you put it on. Can't wait to wear it on the slopes this winter!!!

Write your question here...I only saw the black and ivory in this coat. I saw the crushed plum in another down jacket and it was too bright for my taste. Since this is a little different with the hounds tooth design, is it a deeper or darker shade of purple? Thanks,
Was way more puffy than I expected. I got a Medium, and usually wear a small-medium in tops. The sleeves were way too short, and as soon as I put it on I could tell it was just an ill-fitting/-made jacket. Returned immediately.
I got the amore down jacket for christmas and it is a great jacket for skiing. It has a nice simple design and is perfect for cold days. It seems very well made and has a more durable outer fabric than most other puffys i have owned. As other reviewers have mentioned the sizing is definitely a little off. I generally wear a small, I am 5'7'' and 115lbs but I have a medium in this coat. The arms on the small were way to short, especially when I raised my arms. The jacket also has a powder skirt which is nice although unless I am wearing a bulky fleece underneath it is too loose and there is plenty of space for snow to come up. I have this jacket in vibrant blue which is actually a little bit more purple than the picture but it is still a great color.
I'm tired of being cold in the winter, and this year, I want to get a really nice winter jacket. I'm trying to decide between the TNF Amore or the TNF La Fonda. I'm really petite (5'3, 105 lbs) and TNF jackets tend to run big on me. I like more of a slim fit, and am not sure which jacket between the two will give me more of a girly silhouette.
You've come to the right place! The Amore and the La Fonda are very similar in the fact they are 600 fill down and utilize The North face's awesome HyVent 2 layer fabric. So in either, you will be warm and dry. The Amore can be used for skiing and winter sports like the La Fonda can, but has more of a street appeal and seems less technical at face value with less pockets and more streamlined. For skiing, I would go with the La Fonda, I dig the fur but you can take it off if you're not into it. Decisions, decisions...

I like that this jacket is made out of a more substantial material. It is so warm and cozy that you won't want to take it off. I think it runs a bit small. I have the insane blue and love the color! Awesome jacket!!!!!
Yes it is removable. Pls see TNF's website info : http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/womens-amore-jacket_2.html?parent_category_rn=&cm_vc=Search
this is really a stylish down jacket, althgouh it is not as light as thundre jacket which is 800-filled, but its hard shell could protect you from cold and makes it look like a jacket of great modern brands.
There is. This jacket has tiny zippers. If you zoom in on the photo you can see the zipper for this pocket on the left arm (jacket's left arm, on right side of photo). It is higher than the wrist. I'd say it's more of a lower arm pocket than wrist pocket.
I love this jacket! Feminine fit without being bulky. True to size if you don't want to layer up, but I went up a size to allow more room. Pretty color, sort of a medium plum. Not too bright,
Care instructions: Machine wash warm, tumble dry low.
Hyvent uses a PU membrane and to maintain its breathability it is suggested to use a Tech Wash instead of detergent: http://www.backcountry.com/store/group/177/Fabric-Care.html
I am 5'4", 111 lbs. and ordered the jacket in a small. It was uncomfortably tight across the back with a mid-weight base layer. It also was shorter than I expected. Just not very comfy. Seemed well made, though, a serious down jacket, not at all puffy
i had ordered size M, i really wanted this to be the jacket... it was sized ok, the length was good (im 5'7/135 lbs)but it was really bulky and the fabric didn't feel very flexible. I wanted a very slim down coat, so this wasn't working out. also, the attached hood sat weird on the collar which felt oversized. I returned this jacket and got the TNF womens Destiny in medium, it fits much slimmer on me(even though backcountry said it would fit the same) and the fabric is much more flexible, and I LOVE it.
I thought this was going to be the coat for me, after doing all kinds of web-based research on coats. So I was disappointed when it came and it wasn't right for me. The down was puffier than I had expected, especially in the arms. It would definitely keep you warm, no question, but I wish it had less filling in the arms because it would've been difficult to fit even a light sweater underneath and avoid looking like a snowman. The fabric was a little stiffer than I had expected. That said, it has a nice feminine shape and if you wear a size 4 or smaller, it will probably look great. (I'm in the size 8-10 category). I think North Face tends to run small, this one included. I purchased a size large and it fit properly. I am ordering the Patagonia Ice Field jacket instead for the less puffy primaloft and better fit.
I have to agree with other comments, this jacket is just kind of cheap looking. I ordered the XL in the purple color, given North Face runs small, and I'm 5'7 and 160 lbs. Here is my feedback: The jacket was too big in the hips and too snug in the chest (i'm not even busty! ;), the purple color is weird - it actually has a small pattern in it that makes it look cheap, the North Face label is too high up on the coat so it almost looks like a fake North Face, the hood is detachable - which is probably good for some people -- but -- it looks awkward and kind of thrown together. I had this jacket on for a few minutes before I returned it. I love North Face products, but this seemed like a cheap knock off to me. On a positive note, the jacket shipped an hour after I ordered it and was at my house in a matter of days, even when I selected free shipping.
