Saddle up with the Amongstit Bib Pant from The North Face for deep pow days when you don’t want anything cold getting into your pants. HyVent fabric helps keep you warm when you’re shredding the trees, and the bib pocket is big enough to hold all of the paraphernalia you’ll need for a chill day on the hill.

  • HyVent fabric repels water and breathes so you stay dry in pow storms
  • Fully taped seams prevent water from sneaking in between the stitching
  • StrechVent gaiters keep powder from spilling in your feet
  • Upper and lower RECCO reflectors make it easier to find you should you get in over your head, literally
  • Chimney Venting pulls cool air from mesh vents in the leg gaiters cools and releases heat through the upper thigh vents

Bottom Line: The paragon of powder pant perfection.

Awesome buy!

I ordered size small/regular (waist: 28-30in, length: 30.5in), since that was the only size available on every website I found. I was hoping they would run big and fit my husband who is a 32/30, and they did! They are an exact 32 waist, but they are not tight and uncomfortable. As for the quality of the “Amongstit Bib,” they’re worth every penny! They’re very sharp and practical.

Only 1 Recco reflector & not that baggy

By:

After doing a scrunch/pat down test, I can only find one Recco reflector so this is a little misleading: "Upper and lower RECCO reflectors make it easier to find you should you get in over your head".

It's not black but more of a slight herringbone dark grey w/ a little shine to it. The side cinch adjusters make you look more like a person than a square blob. The suspenders stand out and the length works. The foundation bib had the length adjuster near the top of the shoulders for most people.

Compared w/ the tight ski stuff, this is probably baggy. I can only compare it to Burton pants or a TNF foundation bib from a fear years ago. The bottom is not baggy at the waist to mid-thigh. Then it gets baggy, but not puffy. The top is form fitting but not tight (6-3 225 line backer sized). I can sit comfortably. No room for padded shorts if that's your thing.

No zips on the cargo or back pockets, but the flap folders over to block rain and you have velcro or button snap for closure. The front pockets are horizontal and zip w/ maybe a 5" pocket. I'm used to more angled pocket openings so not sure what I'd find more convenient. Definitely less of a chance to loose things. The crotch zipper goes top down instead of both directions like some other pants.

One pocket has the standard TNF key attachment that snaps into a cord. It's less bulk than a hook, but takes more work w/ different set of keys. The inner thing vents are mesh lined.

The bottom gaitor could use stickier plastic or a smaller opening. There is a hook for laces, but I typically collapse them given the tiny burton speed laces not having any room under them.

Thanks for the review.. But complaining about the pants only having 1 Recco reflector is nitpicking. The reality is that unless you are Heli or Cat sking with a guide, The Recco system is more for body recovery than anything else. By the time Ski patrol gets the recco transciever deployed, you will most likely have passed. Any Heli or Cat operation will have extra reflectors you can use anyway. So its a moot point...

Hi, does anyone know what kind of lining it has? TNF website

Hi, does anyone know what kind of lining it has? TNF website says the Anchor Bib has Thermoliner and embossed taffeta. But the Amongstit has no mention of the Thermoliner... Thx a lot.

Great fitting bib. Liner is thin and effective. I am 6'2" 175 and XL was the right choice. Nice cuffs to keep snow out. Real nice bibs. Loose fit.

North Face Bibs

Took this pants to Switzerland for a two week ski trip. I really enjoyed these. I am a tall guy at 6'4'' so I always had trouble with my back being exposed when I sat on lift chairs and getting snow up my back when skiing in powder even with a snow skirt. These pants completely solved my problem. They are warm for that real cold day but the chimney vents worked really well to vent out excess heat. They are comfortable and I would highly recommend them. The only thing is they are not actually black, they are a charcoal color and have a tweed hatch to them.
