Whether used for a dayhike or the bike ride to school, The North Face Women's Amira Backpack is so comfortable, you'll forget you have it on. The North Face constructed the Amira with a women's-specific harness and breathable mesh back panel for optimal comfort. The front panel has an angled cut to distribute the load higher and closer to your back for easier carrying. You'll be equally equipped for a hiking trail or the walk to class with the Amira's stretch-woven water bottle pockets, internal organizer, front stretch-woven pocket, and a main compartment that features a padded laptop sleeve.

Bottom Line: Whether your jungle is made of trees or concrete, The North Face Amira Backpack will carry your essentials.

There is no hydration port in the strap, and no designated pocket for a bladder inside.

Too small!

By:
August 11, 2010

I bought this backpack, and though I love how it looks, it's way too small! I bought this backpack to use for my last year of high school and to use in college as well, but i'm going to have to return it. The back pack could hold a binder and MAYBE one textbook - no more. Think about size before buying this backpack.

I have had the Amira for two years and love it for short hiking trips or for air travel; however, it is definitely too small for school use. If I want to put a three-ring binder and textbook in my backpack, I have to remove my water bottle from the side pocket.

It will fit a 15.4" laptop. I have a MacBook Pro and the Amira carries it comfortably. The main compartment is a single compartment with laptop sleeve, and there is an organization compartment in front with spaces for pens, IPod, phone, keys, etc. Also the pockets on the side can hold things like keys, snacks and whatnot. Side pockets are too small for my 1L waterbottle, so I carry it in the bungee pocket on the back and that works well.

I'm going to repeat Carly's question because it's a good one, and I need to know too - is the water bottle holder big enough for the 32oz. Nalgene bottles?

it will most likely be wide enough for them, but does not look to be deep enough. So it may fit one, but it might fall out easily as well.

Yes Curly it will easily hold a liter bottle as long as the diameter doesn't get any bigger.
