Aleutian Bx Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Synthetic

The North Face Aleutian Bx Sleeping Bag, named for the string of Arctic islands between Alaska and Siberia, masterfully retains heat in below freezing temperatures. The North Face has developed an overlapping shingle construction that, coupled with Heatshield Optimal Technology, virtually eliminates cold spots in your sleeping bag. A hood with adjustable drawcord lets you regulate the amount of heat that remains trapped in the bag, and a lined zipper column backed with an insulated draft tube prevents snags when you need to zip up. Keep your thermometer handy in the external chest pocket so you can see exactly how cold it gets outside and smile at how toasty you stay inside.

Bottom Line: Siberia called, they want their sleeping bag back.

I am looking for a sleeping bag to use for study abroad program

I am looking for a sleeping bag to use for study abroad program in Australia in May. Program requires bag that is "cool for warm climates and warm for cool climates," we wil be camping out in the outback. Is this the correct bag for me?

Never been cold in it

Could not be happier with this bag! I have used it probably 8 times now in temperatures ranging from the 60's to the 20's and have never been uncomfortable in it. I am 6 feet tall and I got the long because I thought I may want the extra length. I have about 8 inches extra on the bottom. Price is simply amazing for the quality of this bag! OH, and the zipper is super nice as well. No annoying snags when your getting in or out.

OH BABY WHAT A GOOD DEAL

North Face quality, lifetime guarantee, free shipping, and warm! Pluses: you can wash it, it stays warm when wet, and it stuffs down to a decent size, and most importantly is about $200 dollars less than a comparable goose down bag. The bag was recommended by a Gear Expert on this site during a Chat Mode. If you haven't tried their Chat Mode you will find it really helpful, they go the extra mile to help you and it is a great online shopping experience. You can shop REI OUTLET, Sierra Trading Post, Cabela's, but none of them pop up with a chat mode while you are browsing with a real live person on the other end that knows the gear the way this site's Gearheads know it. OH BABY WHAT A GOOD DEAL!!

A medium size compression stuff sack will work fine for your sleeping bag.

Great bag

Definitely a great bag for a great price. I bought a compression sack for it, which really packs this thing down to a small size. It's light enough for my backpacking needs and is very warm and comfortable. You can't beat this bag for the price.
