Down for town.

The beauty of The North Face Women's Aconcagua Down Vest is that it's chic enough to wear about town, but provides excellent core warmth when you need it. Available this season in a new iridescent fabric for an eye-catching look, this is a vest that you'll reach for when you want to dress to impress on cold days. As ever, the 550-fill down provides lightweight and compressible warmth, and the quilting pattern has been refined to offer a more tailored, feminine look. The Aconcagua looks great and functions wonderfully as a standalone vest, and it can also be zipped into compatible shells from The North Face when the weather gets really nasty. Two zippered hand pockets give you a place to tuck your hands or secure your phone.

  • Polyester and nylon plain weave fabric
  • 550-fill goose down insulation
  • Active fit
  • Brushed collar lining
  • Two zippered hand pockets

Nice Vest- Just what we wanted

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

My wife bought me the male version for Xmas and I really like it for just casual wear. I got her one for her birthday, like the different color selections for women and how light it is. Sale was better than when she bought mine so worked out perfectly

Nice vest... Runs big

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

Purchased small in gardinia color. I am 5' 2" and pear shaped. 34 C chest, size 6/8 pant. According to north face sizing they recommended a medium or large. Due to other reviews I ordered a small. Glad I did. It runs rather large. A small fits me. A medium may have worked also, but would have been roomy. I prefer a more feminine taylor edx fit. North face sizing can be inconsistent. I have two north face vests... The other is a pseudo vest which does run small, but buy down a size in this one!

Also, unlike the other colors, the North Face logo on the gardenia is not very visible. Personally; I wish it was, but maybe other buyers will like that it blends in.

Overall, I am very happy with it. It will go nicely with nearly anything and Backcountry was offering the vest at the best price online. And as always with Backcountry, it arrived promptly.

Well made: sizing is off if pear shaped

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

This is an absolutely beautifully made vest with a heavy duty zipper. The styling was so chic for a vest I was disappointed when it did not go around my hips... but it was roomy across the chest so that you could wear over a heavy sweater. Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed and had to return it. NorthFace consistently makes quality products.

Too Big

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

I ordered a small, which is what I normally wear, it was too big in the waist and rib cage area. Fit good around my shoulders, but that is it.

Love it.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've been on the hunt for a women's down vest in ivory/cream; plain, with no other colors or embellishments. The prices vary quite a bit, and of course I want to get the most bang for my buck. On another website, I ordered a down vest, made by a different company, and was disappointed when I received it. It didn't look cute like it did in the picture; it just hung there, with no fit or style. Back it went. Then I found this one from The North Face @ Backcountry. It was more expensive, but it looked like it had potential. I usually wear a Medium -- which means sometimes I wear a Large and sometimes I wear a Small, depending upon the brand -- so I ordered a Small and Medium, just to compare. Well, I couldn't even zip up the Small, but the Medium fit me perfectly - quite a big difference between the two, size-wise. I love having a vest option because it keeps you toasty without the bulk of a jacket. The fit and the quilting pattern on this vest makes it feminine, too, and the high collar keeps your neck warm and looks cute dressed up with a scarf, too.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I started out with just one of these vests 3 years ago, I now own 4 of them. Perfect for everyday fall weather and a nice add on layer in the winter.

The grey is actually silver

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this vest in black last year and loved it so much that I wanted a different color. I purchased the pache grey. As always, great price and shipping through BackCountry. I can't decide if I like the color and quality of this one though and might have to return it. The grey is shiny just like the black, but it makes the vest look SILVER, not grey. I'm not a fan of silver on me. Also, the material feels different than last year's version. Not as smooth and soft. Zipper and pocket pulls are white.
I still give it 4 stars, as my meh feelings are mostly tied to the color. If I spend this kind of money on a item, I want to love it.
