The North Face Boys' Aconcagua Down Jacket gives him the warmth and comfort of down without making him feel like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The Aconcagua Down Jacket's polyester shell resists minor flurries and sprinkles, but if a major weather system rolls in the Aconcagua Down Jacket will fit under his hardshell. This North Face jacket has a brushed collar that eliminates chafing, and 550-fill down that lets the coat compress small enough to fit in his backpack.

my son absolutely loves this jacket. he hates wearing coats because they are bulky and heavy, but doesn't complain when he wears this one! lightweight yet warm. only drawback- no hood ....

My son loves this jacket. It keeps him warm but doesn't look "puffy". The fit is great and for extra warmth he wears a fleece underneath.

This is the best jacket that I have ever purchased for either of my children. It is extremely warm, very light, packs into a tiny container, and (most important for them) is cool.
I want one for myself.
Not for cold weather.

My 10 year old boy loves this jacket. However, it is not for below-freezing weather, and I would have preferred getting a heavier jacket for him. I understand the Aconcagua can be zipped into an outer shell; I'd recommend doing this but note will become quite expensive.
