Here's what others have to say...

Ah, the end of the trail!

Ah, the end of the trail!

Look how happy my feet are in my Teva Tirras. You can see my pal's Chaco's too, notice how the band wraps around the toe? I always thought that looked cool but my friend pointed out that she can't wear socks with hers, even in the backcountry where no one can judge her. Seriously though, it's nice to schlep around camp in the morning in socks and sandals even if it isn't the sexiest of footwear choices.

Replaced my Keens

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I didn't wear sandals until my mid-20's and I started out with Keens. I've had several pair of Keens and liked them but I really only wore them around the office or while kayaking. I always manage to get stuff between my foot and the footbed while hiking and it was really annoying.
My friend swears by Chacos but the price tag scared me off. I settled on Teva Tirra's after finding them for $42. I'm really happy with them. They fit well and I don't get stuff between my foot and the footbed. I took them on a 4.5 mile hike with a 35L pack and by the last bit of the hike I was wondering if I should have worn regular boots because I had a hot spot. I think I'd take them out under similar circumstances again, maybe just take some moleskin along. If the toe straps would go a bit tighter, I don't think I would have gotten my hot spot. I may actually try to add a bit more velcro to the toe for more adjustment.
Subsequent shorter trips have been hot spot-free and very enjoyable. I'm wearing them every day to the office. I like them while backpacking; great for fording creeks, fishing, and around camp at night. Plus, they're a lot lighter than my buddy's Chacos. They're a lot more supportive than my Keens, so much so that I doubt I'll be buying Keens ever again.
This is my first summer in them, hopefully they will continue to hold up well. As of now they've seen a few months of daily use and 26 miles of hiking - they still look new!

Love these sandals!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

The most comfortable sandals with good support. I wear them all summer. They hold up well to all abuse. I have been a Teva sandal wearer for many years and will continue as long as they make such a great product.

So comfortable!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ordered a size down because I have narrow feet and am happy with the fit. Very light and comfortable. Not quite as much arch support as chaco's but so much lighter and have a bit of a bounce. The chocolate chip color is lighter than I expected but I love these sandals anyway as they are so comfortable!

Comfortable and looking good!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These are by far the most comfortable sandals I've had. I like the fact that I can adjust the straps to fit. I use them for daily use, which is mostly walking around town, and they look good with pants or a skirt. I bought the chocolate chip, which is a great color.

Comfy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Bought this because I wanted something that was sturdy and could be used for multiple purposes yet looked feminine. This sandal fit the bill, it is very comfortable and I think it looks good for casual wear as well as functional for light hiking

They are comfortable

I bought these about a year and a half ago to go canoeing and I like them. They are extremely comfortable so I would definitely recommend them. They are not that cute though. I got the black and purple ones and they are pretty ugly in my opinion but I love them with all of my heart so who cares.

The things I didn't like were that they are on the bulky side and don't dry as fast as I'd hoped.

Comfy

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
  • Fit: True to size

Got these to replace a really old pair of Tevas. I like the paired down size and style. Not as clunky as the old ones. Has good grip on the sole and very comfortable.

Size 6 too wide

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

I don't have narrow feet, but there is not enough velcro to tighten the front straps down. It doesn't seem like most people have this problem, so maybe it's only in the smaller sizes? I could probably have gone down a half size, but I don't see a 5.5. I have also bought the kids sizes, but they don't have as much cushion, so I won't buy them again. If I add some velcro, these will probably work well for me, though.

Responded on

I agree, the straps near the toes need more loop velcro so they can be tightened down more aggressively. I'm a size 6 as well.

Looooooooooove

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is my second pair. I fell for them the first time I put them on and then wore them non-stop for 2 years. I had to buy a new pair when I literally wore through the sole of my original pair. They are so wonderful. Cannot say enough good things...

Size down a 1/2 size

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I have feet that are on the narrow side and I should have sized down to a 9 from a 9.5. Otherwise, these would have worked well. If you have narrow feet or even somewhat narrow, size down a 1/2 size. Otherwise, your feet may be swimming in them.

Nice Sandals

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These sandals were a good price and feel secure on my feet. They have good support and I love the black color. It goes with anything! I wouldn't wear them hiking but for shopping or work, they're great :)

Not recommended if you have high arches!

I really loved the look of these, and at first they were really comfortable, but after I wore them for about a month, my feet hurt so bad I could barely walk. I have high arches and there was adequate arch support, but there was also cushioning on the outside edge that pushed my foot up and in. I ended up having to return.

I have an old old pair of Tevas I love, but it has a very high arch that I need. Do these have a high arch? If so this is my shoe. My old ones were a #6673 and this is what came up when I put that # in.
Thanks much, Georg Ann

Great sandal, but size down to order

This sandal was very comfortable, and definitely very versatile because it's a technical sandal that doesn't look like a tank. However, I have noticed that Tevas tend to run large, and this is no exception. I usually wear a 9, but since I knew these run large I bought an 8.5 -- should have gone to an 8. So to be on the safe side you can go a half-size larger, but if you tend to run kind of between sizes, go down a full size from your larger size Does that make sense?

Teva Tirra Sandals

I absolutely love these sandals. Love the adjustability, comfort, and style. This is my third pair of Tevas and am sure I'll eventually buy more.

Loving my first Teva Sandals

I've been a KEEN's fan, but this time I decided to give it a try to Teva, as I've read so many good reviews. I am glad I did! Super soft, keep your feet fresh preventing to get smelly. They also wash and dry easily. I found them to be true to size.

Great multi-sport shoe

I bought these for a whitewater kayak trip in Europe. At home, sandal season is very short and I haven't had a pair for a few years.

These sandals worked great, I wore them the whole trip and have been wearing them since I returned home as well, very comfortable. I have very narrow feet, the velcro engagement on the forefoot is only about 25% but the straps never came off in the water. I probably won't get as much life out of these sandals as people with normal feet. The foot bed is soft and comfortable and the straps dry moderately fast.

I find the Tirras more comfortable and better fitting than my previous sandals (Chacos, which couldn't be adjusted narrow enough). I would recommend the Tirras and would buy them again. I found them true to size. They make my feet feel secure in the water, on the trail, and around town. A very multipurpose shoe. They also held up well in the salt water and didn't develop the saltwater stink.
