Teva knows that once you put on their Pretty Rugged Nylon Sandals you won't want to take them off. So, they make them attractive enough to wear every day. Even if it is during the week and you are on your way to work instead of the trail these hot looking sandals won't look out of place. Smooth nylon straps come in cool patterns that look good where ever you wear them. The soft EVA midsole attaches to Teva's durable River Rubber outsole for excellent traction on sidewalks, trails, or streams. A slight heel and contoured arch support make the Pretty Rugged Sandals hard to take off; you'll want to be in them all day.
Bottom Line: Pretty Rugged. A much better sandal name than Prettied Rug.
Are these the original, flexi-soled Pretty Ruggeds, or are these the new non-flexi-soled shoe that goes by the name "Pretty Rugged 2" (but which does not perform at all like the old Pretty Ruggeds)?
Like another poster, I'm desperately searching for old-style Tevas. I've lived in Tevas for 10 years because the flexi soled ones are so comfortable for walking (and even bicycling). Non-flexi-soled shoes give my feet cramps, so I can't wear the new ones at all.
I've been been a Teva wearer my whole life, and this is the first pair of Tevas that I've ever slipped and fallen in. They just do not have the wet traction that many of the other styles have. I used to walk on wet tile with very little concern, but with these I feel like I have to watch my step any time hard surfaces are even damp. I'll likely return these for a different style.
Other than the slippery sole, the Tevas fit comfortably. The straps are fully adjustable, and the sole is very flexible. The arch support is good for my feet.

I have loved the old version of these (must have gotten them 10+ years ago) and now find the bottoms are separating from the tops. I paid $10 two years ago to a repair shop to fix them but now have the same trouble. I'm trying to find another pair of these in the original style size 7. If not available anywhere any glue ideas?
All you have to do it enter your shipping information into the check out page, and if your country isnt listed there, chances are Backcountry doesnt ship to your location.
Hi Michaela, I checked and it turns out backcountry does NOT ship to the Republic of Seychelles at this time. What a bummer! I have a friend who lives in Singapore and he has Backcountry items sent to a forward shipping company in the US, which sends one package on to him every couple of months? Perhaps that is the answer here too. I hope that helps. Or, come on over to the US for a visit! Take care, cheers.
I have been wearing Tevas for 15 years and have gone thru 3 pairs and still have 1 pr left but they are very faded. I cannot find a store where I can buy another pair. They are so multipurpose and even look dainty enough for shorts or a skirt. Is the head office in or near Toronto, so I could try them on. They are not the same as the original sandals. Desperate !!
My old Tevas are shabby and look bad. I got the new pair. they look nice and clean and spiffy and black. I wore them for a walk in to town today and came home with a kidney bean sized blister on my little toe, and abrasions on top of my ankles. I think the ankle problem may be because of the tags sewn into the rubber padding. I'll try cutting out the tags. Skip the padding and leave the straps alone. It worked better that way. The bottom is very comfortable--no complaints there.
I found these to be a bit narrow so they didn't seem to support lateral foot movement very well. The fabric under the Velcro was also thin, so for my sensitive feet, it took longer to break in.
Am a long-standing fan of Teva sandals-but I really appreciate the upgrade of colors-these pink/coral shoes are the best with the same great Teva support. Great service via your website, Thanks!
I've been been a Teva wearer my whole life, and this is the first pair of Tevas that I've ever slipped and fallen in. They just do not have the more...
