Agent 110 Ski Boot - Men's

The new Technica Men’s Agent 110 Ski Boot continues its reign as an aggressive, but comfortable freeride boot. A favorite of instructors, the Agent 110's low-to-medium volume 100mm last fits hard-charging skiers seeking a boot that won't punish their feet. It provides the support of a medium-stiff flex for powering today's big-mountain skis, but won't buck you into the trunk like a World Cup race boot when things get rough.

  • Shock-absorbing boot board adds cushion for big air and dampens hardpack chatter
  • Movable, shock-absorbing rear spoiler and tongue piece on the liner take the sting out of boot bang and backseat landings
  • Fur fleece lining provides extra warmth and a soft feel on entry
  • Hook-and-loop power strap makes for a tighter fit around the leg

Bottom Line: Aggressive all-day skiing never felt so good.

I was expecting a lot from these boots. I previously had the Dragon 120's, but wanted more of the freeride options that the agent comes with. What I left with was horrendous shin bang (worse than ever before), and extremely bad toe bang. Basically, my feet just absolutely killed me. The one fantastic thing about these boots though is that the fleece liner allows a super easy entry and exit into the boot. Maybe my feet just don't like Tecnica, but these boots did not work for me at all. Besides the pain they did perform pretty well though.

Ordered a pair of size 25.5's but it's a little too tight on the toes. Would you suggest a 26 or 26.5?

The difference between the 26 and the 26.5 is essentially a thicker footbed, provided with the boots.
I ordered a 26.5 and it's a little too big for my foot. Unused.
Consider a swap?

Pretty damn good boots. My foot is close to E width, more so a wide problem in the toe box, so it took a couple bumps to get it just right. Took about a week for them to break in completely. The foot bed shock absorber does well. I use them with my Volkl Kuro's in the deep fresh and they feel great. Plus they look baller, not to mention the fleece liner. Talk about a hole in one.

I wear the same shoe size as you (10 - 10.5) and I just purchased a 27.5 boot this past weekend. I was very surprised since my previous boots were 28.5 but the 27.5 boots fit very well.

Love These Boots

By:
March 2, 2010

I ordered these boots pro-form after talking to the Tecnica Rep at the Denver Ski Expo last fall and they are definatley the best boots that I have ever bought. They are perfect match of performance and style.
As a fairly fast, aggressive skier I was looking for a boot that was all about freeride performance but that was also nothing over the top in terms of weight and flex so that I could tour and hike in. This boot fits that description very closely, especially when compared to the Agent 130 (which I think is simply more boot and money than even most good skiers need). The Agent AT was out of my price range even with pro-form.
The Dragon Liner is one of the warmest and most comfortable liners that I have ever had. I do have fairly wide feet so I almost had trouble with this boot, but after getting the liners custom molded my feet have been fine skiing and hiking in them all day long. The shock absorption is great on drops, jumps, and bumps. I have yet to get an ounce of shin bang from them.
The sickest part of these boots though is definitely the reaction people have to them. It is shallow but skiers judge gear and in lift lines you can hear everyone from gaypers to rippers talking about your boots because they look as sick as they are.

How does this boot perform in the park? I've heard that removing the pins in the back makes it ride like the Agent 90.

Yep...if you take one of the canting screws out of the back of the upper shell, it will make the flex a bit softer. As far as using these boots in the park, they're great for both hardpack park days (carvability factor!) and those days hitting backcountry booters. Andy Mahre, Pep Fujas, and Dylan Hood have all used these boots for their freestylin'.

Great all mountain boot.

By:
January 7, 2010

This is a great all mountain boot. This is my first season in them, but no complaints thus far. It took about a day to break them in and they have been great since then. I don't feel the need to loosen or adjust buckles during the day. Comfortable, warm, and they perform well. Really great boot if you're looking for a solid mix of comfort and performance.

I ride the 110 and love it. I've got wide feet and this boot fits perfect. Nice and tight with no heel lift yet still comfortable enough not to have to open up every chair ride. Anti Vibration takes some of the shock out of landing on your heels. Best boot I've ever had!!

Buckle lies

By:
February 24, 2010

Love these boots, fit me and my fat foot very well and perform very well but my buckle just broke. These Carbon Steel buckles are suppose to be the strongest in the industry, but my boots, which have about 60 days on them just gave way. I do crank my boots pretty tight, but i expected more from these buckles... so be wary of there super strong carbon steel buckles they aren't quite as super as they say they are. (its only $20 bucks to get in replaced though, so no biggie, just wanted to throw it out there)

the experience i had with buckles breaking in my old agent 100s was that it was the rivets that attach the buckle to the part mounted to the boot that break. it happened on 5 of the 8 buckles.

Warren -

Could you please elaborate on how the buckle broke? What part/piece of the buckle broke? Did it bend/twist/break? It'd give us a little more to go with. Thanks!

Chris-

This is definitely a much more flexible boot, but if you're looking to stiffen them up a bit, I used a custom Surefoot foam liner to add a bit of flex ratio. By the time I was done with them, they were riding more like the Agent 120s from a few years back.

The 130 is based off the racer plug boot, which mean narrower heel, toe, ankle. The 110 is the Dragon last which is wider and bigger all around. I have larger ankles due to sprains and breaks, after years of my feet being in boots, making them weak. The 110 is much softer then the 130. I use to have a Lange Freeride (now the Banshee)from Surefoot. The boot was great cause of the custom foot bed and foam just two narrow for my foot. I went with Agent 110 this season and love the softer feel and the Surefoot custom is the only way to go.

so is this more flexible than the 130 or no?

The major, important difference is the flex and the toe box. Agent 130 has a 130 flex, where as this boot has a 110 flex. The toe box in this boot is 100mm whereas the Agent 130 has a 98mm box (correct me if im wrong). These are your two major differences.

good boots

By:
January 25, 2010

medium to high instep
relatively wide at the forefoot
medium stiff

these are a good compromise if you have a slightly larger or wider foot and you've decided that you'd rather tolerate a little slop rather than deal with endless hotspots and the price of custom fitting. they give me decent performance. I use a thicker sock now that they've packed out a bit. works well.

well. . . . . . heat and thermo = the same thing. so yes there are moldable parts in this liner. it is a far cry from an intuition liner like the ID liner from Dalbello and FT liner. but around your ankle the Agents liner will mold.

Be your own secret agent in these Agent 110s

By: Backcountry.com Sponsored Athlete

This is a fairly high-volume boot for a stiffer flex rating. Tecnica boots are always great for skiers with wider feet, and these are no different. The shock-absorber in the heel really helps with the impact of that cat-track air you took on that last icy day. I've even used 'em for some short lap backcountry and lasted all day long in them without a problem. A great boot for the freerider who likes to turn it up a notch.

CHRIS. Went to CU with you. Buddies with Rebs. Sick boot, and i agree with Chris 100%, great shape for a wider foot and/or ankle. Custom foam and orthodic from only the best (if you don't know who I am talking about, get off the mountain) added to these boots and they are the best.
